"Selfishly, I want Wilson to start so we don't hear the 'If we had Wilson...' excuse from Cougar fans."

It won't make any difference. If Wilson starts (and finishes no less), but the indy-WACers STILL come up short on the scoreboard, we'll just have to listen to the cougar excuses.

Some will claim that the Wilson was still feeling the effects of the surgery -- even if Wilson steadfastly proclaimed himself 100%.

Others will say that Jaren Hall was the better QB, and the coaches made the right choice and started HIM instead, they would have won the game. We heard that one when the coaches started Heaps over Nelson. And we heard it again when the coaches started Nelson over Hill. It'll just be more of that "same story, different chapter".

You didn't really expect Y fans to admit that they were beaten by the better team, do you?

let me guess, more UTE fans than BYU fans read every single article on BYU football....then they comment as if someone is interested? Who is the Ute QB? does anyone care? let me guess, a JC transfer who never heard of the Utes prior to arriving as starting QB?

Variety is the spice of life! Would you prefer that all schools had the same colors and mascots? How about the same offense and defense for every team, pee-wees through the pros? How about only one stadium design for every team?

“... a different mentality than last year...”

Let’s see... when was the last time a BYU player or coach has said that?

Oh right... it was last year and virtually every year before that.

    song extrapolation...

Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying
Planning and dreaming each night of his charms
That won't get his shoulders fixed nor his arms
So if you're looking to bring him back to par
All you got to do is massage him, adjust him and treat him and pill him
And soon he will be there....

    Let's hope!

He seems like a very nice kid and I wish him the best. Should be interesting to see him play this year. He has a year's experience under his belt but there's film on him and he's no longer an unknown.

Ok, this is coming from a Ute fan, I do not know what type of surgery Wilson had, what I do know, is I had rotator cuff surgery last year in May and I'm still not throwing the ball right, golf game is good however any throwing motion is still tricky, good luck to him, I hope he's 100% or as close as possible before he goes back out there, with that said, Go Utes

Good luck to this sparky kid but unfortunately for him football is a team sport.

Wilson has brought some much-needed excitement back to the program after some rough times. I really hope that he is healthy and 100% ready to go for the season. Secondly, I really hope that he survives the first 4 games without injury. A lot is riding in his recently repaired shoulders.

Man, as one who has passed 5 stones, I feel for the coach. I won't wish that pain on my worse enemy. Completely understand carrying the meds. I still do and it has been some years since the last stone. Drink some acidic drinks like lemonade or grapefruit or something as often as you can. It helps.

Selfishly, I want Wilson to start so we don't hear the "If we had Wilson..." excuse from Cougar fans. Hopefully, Wilson, his doctors, and the coaching staff will make an honest evaluation of his recovery. Let the kid recover properly and completely. If he's ready, great. If he's not ready, its just a game.
