Utah-Hawaii Alum. come on dude, change your screen name to "BYU
Lover". I have never seen anyone so interested in BYU sports as you. You
know more about BYU sports than Athletic Director Tom Holmoe. You actually
should petition for his position. With your connections with the Y, it should be
an easy transition for the school. Now on to more important
news....3 runners in the top 4 in an event from one school is amazing.

This was a great show of talent for BYU. What will be interesting will be
seeing Clayton and Connor Mantz in the 5000 on Friday. Because the competition
is so stiff in the distance events, most runners pick either the 5000 or the
10,000 to run at nationals. I see that some of the BYU runners that I thought
would run in the 5000 final didn't qualify. This could be a double
championship for Clayton, although I suspect that the fresh competitors in the
5000 are going to be very tough for him to do that. It would have been nice if
BYU had some fresh competitors for the 5000 as well. If either Clayton or
Connor or both make it to the podium in the 5000, that will be a great
Where can one watch the last lap?
What an amazing performance.Congratulations Clayton Young!
BYU was very well represented at the NCAA 10,000 meters final by many faithful
fans. Much of the crowd were wearing the Cougar Blue. For the uninformed,
BYU’s football crowds in Provo (which is off topic and irrelevant to this
article) are reduced from past crowds but are still almost always larger than
the capacity crowds in other nearby stadiums.
The race for third looks like it was intense!
Congratulations to the whole team! Great competitive spirit!FYI,
minor correction... If the times are correct, Young won by MORE then 2
seconds(not “nearly) ... 2.10 seconds...Young held off Kigen
around the final turn and then pulled away in the homestretch, finishing with a
time of 29:16.00, nearly two seconds ahead of his challenger (29:18.10).

This NCAA domination comes as no surprise whatsoever. BYu long distance running
is in their DNA. They are the "lonely masters."
All guts, no glory! Distance runner are always deprived of large
crowds cheering them on at track meets...even at championships!Congrats...
In 35 years I can have a bumper sticker that will say BYU 10,000 meter
championship! Congratulations Clayton Young!
Great run by the Cougars. I did notice that they said Ed Eyestone
was the last Cougar to win a 10k title. Josh Rohatinsky won in 2007.
With 6 of 21 events scored at nationals, BYU (21 points) is currently in 2nd
place, behind Miss St (24 points) and ahead of LSU (18 points). In
the 10,000, BYU finished 1st, 3rd, 4th, 15th, 21st and 23rd.Colorado
at 10th and 12th, was the only other team with more than one qualifier for the
national meet.An amazing performance by the Cougs!
With the 1, 3, 4 finish in the 10,000 BYU's Men are well on their way to an
overall Top 10 finish at nationals.Congratulations Clayton, Connor
Good job Cougs! Way to Rep the Y!
Congratulations Clayton, Connor and Connor on an amazing performance!💙 🤙. 🏃🏻♂️
