“Which "real competition" did you beat in 1984?”

#24 Air Force on the road.

2008 Utah didn’t beat a single Top 25 team on the road.

Utah’s men have NEVER won a legitimate national championship playing real competition.

When the “conference of champions” Utes last win an individual national championship?

Here is another for you: Women's Gymnastics, Vault 2018 MyKayla Skinner

How are Utah’s men doing at the 2019 Track & Field nationals?

When was the last time the “conference of champions” Utes won an individual Track & Field national championship?

In addition Utah has two NCAA team championships with 2017 and 2019 Skiing

    Any more questions?

When was byu's last NCAA Championship?

come on dude, change your screen name to "BYU Lover". I have never seen anyone so interested in BYU sports as you. You know more about BYU sports than Athletic Director Tom Holmoe. You actually should petition for his position. With your connections with the Y, it should be an easy transition for the school.

Now on to more important news....3 runners in the top 4 in an event from one school is amazing.

Current 2018-19 Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup Division Standings

    #19 BYU - 539.50 points
    #61 Utah - 253.75 points

    @ Troll Police,

"You are really doin' the best U can. CONGRATS on your efforts indeed. "Brother," if BYu could sell to anyone, they would be in demand, which ain't possible."

BYU is doing far better as an Independent that Utah could ever possibly hope for.

Without the PAC 12 to prop U up, the Utes wouldn't draw flies.

Look how pathetically few show up to watch rundown Ute basketball.

A quick comparison of Las Vegas Bowl attendance is proof of that.

Essentially the same distance for both fan bases, similar opponents, but in an apples-to-apples comparison, BYU dwarfs U in attendance.

    1999 Utah 28,277 Fresno St
    2001 Utah 30,874 USC
    2005 BYU 40,053
    2006 BYU 44,615
    2007 BYU 40,712
    2008 BYU 40,047
    2009 BYU 40,018
    2010 Utah 41,923 Boise St
    2014 Utah 33,067 Colorado St
    2015 BYU/Utah 42,213

    Average
    BYU 41,276
    Utah 35,265

BYU drew 40,000+ to every single Las Vegas Bowl the Cougars played in
Utah only drew 40,000+ when they played BYU and Boise St
(and we all know who brought the bulk of the fans to each bowl)

@ Just the Fax: "Actually, I was working the Miami Beach Bowl Brawl........I saw maybe 70 BYU fans"

Seriously, that's the best you could do.

A Monday early afternoon bowl game, three days before Christmas, in a baseball stadium 2,064 miles from Provo?

Utah wouldn't have drawn flies to such a game.

    That said,

    2014 BYU-Memphis Miami Bowl
    Attendance: 20,761

2017 Utah-WVa Heart of Dallas Bowl
    Attendance: 20,507

    oops!

btw, those of us who watched the game on television could clearly see that there were a lot of BYU fans in the crowd.

Incidentally, Memphis's 2nd brawl of the season.

This was a great show of talent for BYU. What will be interesting will be seeing Clayton and Connor Mantz in the 5000 on Friday. Because the competition is so stiff in the distance events, most runners pick either the 5000 or the 10,000 to run at nationals. I see that some of the BYU runners that I thought would run in the 5000 final didn't qualify. This could be a double championship for Clayton, although I suspect that the fresh competitors in the 5000 are going to be very tough for him to do that. It would have been nice if BYU had some fresh competitors for the 5000 as well. If either Clayton or Connor or both make it to the podium in the 5000, that will be a great achievement.

BYU was very well represented at the NCAA 10,000 meters final by many faithful fans. Much of the crowd were wearing the Cougar Blue. For the uninformed, BYU’s football crowds in Provo (which is off topic and irrelevant to this article) are reduced from past crowds but are still almost always larger than the capacity crowds in other nearby stadiums.
