Based on Romney's absolutely consistent voting record, he will make a lot
of noise about not approving of SOME of Trump's behaviors, but Romney will
never get into the sordid details of what he doesn't like, tolerate or
agree with in Trump. Romney will keep us all dangling at..... maybe he will,
or maybe he won't support Trump in 2020.See how that works? He
doesn't really have to take any moral or political stand. He can, as
always, keep his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing, then
decide later. As all accomplished Politicians and Gamblers do. Wait and see
how the cards are being played, then decide for yourself. Be sure of this,
from every indication: Romney wants to be the President.But.....Romney
knows that he cannot criticize Trump vehemently. Just a little bit will do for
now. Romney knows that he cannot openly criticize the Republican Party and the
majority of Republicans, from choosing down to the man whom we all knew as a
liar, philanderer, cheat and failed business man. Romney has to walk a tight
rope of decision/indecision, moral surety/moral accommodation of corruption.
Summary: Romney will throw in with Trump. For now.
Sounds like the Donald is about to get the boot at the primaries. If he does not
get the nomination that would be great for our country and the Constituion.
By the time you turn seventy, as I did last year and Mitt Romney did a few years
ago, you realize there are certain things that are precious, and not for sale or
even for rent, and one of the greatest of these is character...both yours, and
that of the people you support. Mitt Romney voiced not only his
opposition to the current occupant of the White House during the primary
campaign, but more so his disgust at his lack of character. While it is pathetic
to see Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina...who the current occupant of
the White House mocked and scorned...kowtow to him in public, it is refreshing
and inspiring for Mott Romney to say, no...not yet...I don't know if I can
support him in 2020. You can question Mitt's positions on any
number of issues, but for standing tall and firm and strong, you can't
question his character.
If you need evidence that humans kowtow to an alpha male, just read these
comments. Not only adoration of Trump, but quick to lash out at anyone who says
something as benign as being undecided on supporting Trump.
To say nobody ever rebuts what Romney says is just not true; for instance,
Romney's remarks on the Mueller report reflect a lack of balance and
consideration for unusual circumstances : Romney has not been subjected to a two
year maliciously false harassment from the all sides. But, what also needs to
be looked at is what Romney has not said. He has not given a negative critique
of any other major political figure; not to the extent he has concerning Trump.
From his high 'moral perch' there's hardly any person in this
world he could not criticize, but who does he mostly criticize ? And for what
"Pres. Trump reminds me of the Book of Mormon king, Moriantum..."I guess it's okay to compare Trump to Book of Mormon characters as
long as it is a favorable comparison. Sorry to hurt your feelings.
I'm always here in the comments for the performance art that is
@WeThePeople. I just shudder to think how many of the likes they
post are not in irony.
"Since Mitt is affiliated with the same party as our elected President of
the USA , stand tall and support him just like you should support your religious
leader!!!!"Very frightening words!!Whatever they are

Can people form opinions without endorsement of TV commentators and unproductive
politicians?Research, observe, and study is the way to go.
Romney and CNN are joined at the hip. That should tell you all you need to know.
Trump is a very stable genius. We know because he told us. How can you not
support someone like that? Covfefe!
Best of the West - Queen Creek, AZMay 27, 2019 7:20 a.m.I apologize
to the Deseret News Readers,, Since Mitt is affiliated with the same party
as our elected President of the USA , stand tall and support him just like you
should support your religious leader!!!!—-That is
funny! There is no “true party.” Taken independently, both parties
are crazy. We need both parties to be engaged, and as a citizen, I expect
Congress to oversee the administration. Trump has done very little, but drive up
our unborn’s debt. Mitt shows more concern for the nation
than the current Administration. Nation before party. Trump’s
personal actions warrant no consideration as a “religious leader.”
Trump made a fool out of Romney (actually Romney made a fool out of himself)
when he dangled the Secretary of State position in front of him. Romney acted
like a lap dog then and is still licking his wounds.
I apologize to the Deseret News Readers,, Since Mitt is affiliated with
the same party as our elected President of the USA , stand tall and support him
just like you should support your religious leader!!!!
Hint..Romney isn't running for president for Utahn's, he's
running for his own ego. He was the first governor to enact socialized
medicine. That's his greatest accomplishment! Utahn's as well as the
general population of the USA will be quite sorry when he finally clears
socialized medicine for the entire USA! Socialized medicine takes your medical
options out of your indivicual hands and gives it to an unelected board. Your
treatment will be designated by several factors, mainly the cost. He's
still seeking to be his father who was definately a great and honest man
who's values exceeded by far Mitt's. Socialized medicine will almost
immediately lead to socialization of many more things. States will lose their
soverenty completely and Big Brother will care for us all. This is the current
Democrtic goal and he will sit easily into it!
I am not ready to endorse mitt romney.
Someone with a sense of morality should primary anyone who supports Donald
Trump. You may lose, but you will have the respect of anyone with high moral
"young people as well as people around the world look at the president of
the United States and say, 'Does he exhibit the kind of qualities that we
would want to emulate?'"In Trump's case, that should
be a rhetorical question with an all-too-obvious answer, "No!"
Romney has expressed the occasional moral principle. He even sometimes claims
he supports all human rights, and eschews the dishonest and lawless behavior of
the Trump/Putin Cabal in the White House. Alas, Romney ALWAYS eventually votes
Party over Morality. No matter the vile and villainous developments revealed
each and every day about Trump, he can always count on Romney to support him.
Romney was aware, long before the Presidential Election, that Trump has always
been a cheat, a deceiver, a liar and an immoral person, yet it didn't cost
Trump Romney's eventual support, did it?
It's Romney I will not endorse or vote for ever again. He run as a
Republican but he is a Democrat. He sure pulled the wool over the eyes of Utah
I would encourage the Utah republican party to support anyone but Mitt Romney.
I didn’t vote for Romney and I’m a conservative as well as a member
of the dominant religion. Romney and many LDS people just don’t like the
persona of President Trump. But he has fulfilled many of his campaign promises
like no other President. And NO OTHER PRESIDENT has been hounded by the left and
the left media like he has. The liberal left is so crazy now with their policies
that it will ruin our country. But it’s all about power with them. They
will say anything to be elected.
This weekend Trump tweeted his support for the murderous dictator of North Korea
and laughed at his opinion of a former Vice President of the United States.
Trump also showed no concern that North Korea is once again launching
missiles. Is this kind of leadership that Senator Lee and
representatives Bishop and Stewart propose we should support for another
presidential term? Their continual backing of this deeply flawed leader will not
be forgotten by many concerned Utahns.
Romney is neither a liberal nor a democrat. He sides with his party on over 95%
of senate votes (more than Mike Lee and many other ‘true’
republicans) and the majority of his positions are pretty standard conservative
beliefs. He has supported a large majority of President Trump’s policies
but that doesn’t mean he should, or does, support the president. Romney may be too liberal for some and too conservative for others but
that’s good, normal behavior.
After having read the entire article and most of the comments, It was clear to
me exactly why I am grateful for being politically neutral and independent. I am
also grateful for our first president who so eloquently penned his farewell
address wherein he clearly warned where we, as a nation might find ourselves
entangled with foreign governments, as-well-as devolving from political
neutrality toward policies, platforms, and personalities as a political party
might instigate. If you have never availed yourself of the opportunity to read
his Farewell Address, I pray you will do so before the media incites you, once
again, to continue to do the same thing over and over again while expecting
different results which constitutes insanity. While I did not vote
for President Trump, I do have the sovereign duty to respect the office to which
he was elected. Should this president or any other man or woman duly chosen by
"We the People" commit real treason, I would be likewise obligated to
seek his or her impeachment and removal from office. In case you are wondering,
I have not voted R or D in over 30 years. If still alive in 2020, I will enjoy
my political freedom once again.
Mr. Romney should change his affiliation. Although he might be considered a
conservative in the democratic party. His apparent beliefs fall in line with
that party. He should get rid of the R and come out of the closet as the
democrat he is.
Ask me if I care who they endorsed! Everyone has one vote, that's it. For
my vote, it will be Trump for president. For Romney, I will replace his name
with my dog as a write in candidate. At least I know exactly what my dog will
@Herbert GravyWe should also elect our Leader in 2024! He is making
our Country Great again. And the lying liberal democrates have wasted so much
of his Presidency on their Collusion Delusion. A Great Leader like Trump
deserve's two full term's to get the job done!
I want BOTH my Mitt Romney votes back. Too bad Senate votes are so far apart.
#NeverAgainMitt. You are so sanctimonious and self serving. We
know Trump is boorish...but he is governing the way we want in Utah. He got
elected to disrupt the swamp....Don't be a swamp creature Mitt
I will not form opinions based on Mitt Romney or what the main stream media
I've long been a supporter of Mitt Romney. I still am. I appreciate his
approach to policy: research, consult with others, do more research, and then
come up with a plan. Good policies cannot be implemented with only catchy
slogans designed to rile up the voter base; they require a great deal of study
and considering all the possible contributions to the issue. This is where Trump
has failed. He wants to stop illegal immigration? Great. Don't build the
wall. Most illegals are here either through an expired visa (meaning they were
legal as visitors) or forged documents. The wall won't do anything to stop
that. He wants to strengthen the American economy? Great. Stop playing with tax
cuts and trade wars and focus on balancing the budget. Make it easy for American
industry to thrive. Encourage our people to be the best and brightest the world
has to offer. These are things that required detailed plans, which is where
Donald Trump has failed miserably.
We need leaders who value truth, authenticity, true leadership, and who have a
solid moral code. This would not be Trump and many in Washington.
Hence, part of why we are in troubke as a country.
BobUtah - you complain that Romney doesn't represent Utah.... because he
lived in the east.... and yet you express support for Trump. How does Trump
represent Utah. He was raised going to private boarding schools, away from
family, he has been married three times, when the old model grew tiring. He
grew up in a wealthy family, and his dad funded his sons businesses. He got
his start with Casinos... he has at least twice been with other women other than
his spouse, and paid both women to keep quite when he ran for office. He is
part of the country club set... where people pay to be away from other people.
What part of Trump represents anything closely resembling "Utah"
values?People in Utah voted for Trump because they didn't want
to vote for Clinton. They weren't voting for what Trump represents, but
more voted against Clinton and what she represented.
One of the most encouraging things that could be said about Trump, would be that
Romney's not sure he will endorse him...
It's always revealing when mitt talks about trump. Everyone pounces on him,
but no one rebuts a word he says.
I honestly think Mitt is positioning himself for the 2020 Democratic nomination.
A little digging on each of the Dem candidates quickly shows each has major
baggage issues. Romney's positions align with the Dems and he does not
appear to have the same baggage issues.I would hope that by now at
least half of the Republicans who voted Mitt into the Senate are regretting
Romney is an embarrassment to Republicans and to the State of Utah. He is
focused upon trashing President Trump rather than representing the people of
Utah in Congress. There are already enough Democrats trashing the President
without Mitt Romney piling on. How about it Mitt! When are you going to start
doing something for the people who elected you?
In my lifetime President Trump is the first Politician who has actually done
what he said he would do if elected. I can go down a long list of the
Politically Correct Presidents, Congressman and Senators who have spoken
eloquently to us, promising the moon and delivering on none of them. Yeah,
Trump's style of communicating is totally different than what we are use
to, but so are the wonderful things he has accomplished in just the first 2
years in office. His past is an issue for some, but we all have a past and most
of us non-perfect people are sure glad there exist such a thing as forgiveness.
Judging others is a job for someone much more worthy of doing so than us
mortals. Imagine what President Trump could have already achieved if the Dems
and liberal media were just truthful and cooperated once in a while. He has been
forced to defend himself, since day one in office against untrue charges, while
at the same time managing a world inflamed with problems. This non-Politician,
who some feel is such a horrible person is also doing all this for no pay. He
donates his entire salary as President to charity. An uncommon guy for sure.
Thank You Mr. President!
It's not too early. I'm voting for President Trump. He has done an
It’s good to know there are Republican pols who, at least superficially,
have chosen not to become eunuchs for his royal highness.
I wish Utah political leaders would hurry up end endorse President Trump, or
not. I really want to know who I will be voting for.
Mitt America doesn't want you yet it is obvious what you are trying to do.
You want to give it one more shot, never happen Mitt. I will vote for Trump no
Donald Trump is like the uncle everyone is ashamed to admit being related to
until they actually need him. Republicans are far more troubled by what their
opponents think of them than Democrats ever have been. But in the end, their
partisanship will help them swallow whatever Uncle Donald does.
We needed Donald Trump. I now live in liberal Washington State, but I am looking
at the inevitable retirement in Utah, with my wife, to be close to our
grandkids. I am also a huge supporter of Trump's presidential politics and
policies, and I am very worried of having to live in the very milquetoast
Republican State of Utah, where the attitudes seem to be, that it is better to
"go along, to get along", than it is to stand up for what is right.
It's as if people think that it is better to hide their light under a
bushel. I have already lived through that in my home state of Oregon, throughout
the 60's &70's, as it turned from workingman's conservatism
to flaming liberalism, and then again in the 80's & 90's, as
Washington State did the same thing. Why is it so difficult for the people to
see that liberals, who are the minions of satan, are turning Utah, along with
the rest of the country, into the very thing that the Lord has warned us
against, since time immemorial. Don't they see or believe in the
consequences that the Lord has proscribed and warned us against? It is time we
clean our own houses so that next time, a Donald Trump, would not be necessary
Nobody is endorsing because its not time to endorse. They will all be on
board for Trump in 2020.Even Mugwump-Romney.
I trust Mike Lee. Mitt, not so much. This article was slanted. To what
Mr. Romney's remarks about the President are at best distasteful, but I
would rate them more in the category of repugnant and self-serving. They
definitely convince me he's not worthy of my vote next time around. Yes,
the President's not very "presidential", but that's part of
the reason why he gets things done so well. Saving our constitutional republic,
not being do-nothing presidential, is what's important to me. That's
why he will get my vote in 2020. I rate him AAA in performance. People need to
wake up and realize we are in the midst of a much needed revolution begun
November 8, 2016!
@HelmsmanDear Glorious Leader will be re-elected in 2020.
Milqutoast Mitt, always waiting to see which way the wind is blowing. Flip flop,
flip flop, flip flop.
Romney is an emotionally stable, well-adjusted, mature adult who is devout in
his faith and successful in both private and public sectors. Why
someone like this refuses to endorse someone like Trump SHOULD be self-evident.
That this is newsworthy in the slightest only highlights the
self-parody that is Trump's Republican party and the absurd fealty of his
Romney, Pres. Trump is a better man than you will ever be and is a much better
President than you would have ever been! Romney is nothing more than
politically correct "mumbo gumbo"! Pres. Trump reminds me a lot of
Pres. Teddy Roosevelt and Pres. Andrew Jackson, telling it like it is, just like
America needs right now! Romney, nothing in comparison... a total joke!
Good. But still none of them are showing the courage and wisdom
needed to place America first.Their failure to stand up and loudly
-- VERY loudly -- call for trump's dismissal from office, they will not be
truly deserving of the office which they hold. They are complicit in
the destruction of what has always made America great. We will pay a
very dear price in the future, and they will be responsible unless they finally
bring themselves to do their duty.
I believe this article misrepresents the facts. Utah voters will vote for Donald
Trump because not only are his policies in line with their values as
Republicans, but also the Democratic Party has nothing to offer as an
alternative except policy positions that are so extreme that few, if any, middle
class voters can support them. If there are a few squishy Republicans in this
state that cannot definitively state they support Trump for a second term, they
will all come around when the election season is in full sway. The question that
is posed in this article, if turned around, would find most Democrats not
willing to support any one candidate for President at this time either. Given
some time, positions will harden and Republicans will align willingly and
enthusiastically for Donald Trump's re-election.
Romney is not a typical Utahn. He lived most of his life in the east and
learned and adopted their values. He says these things because he seriously
wants to be heard and saying bad things about our president is the way the main
stream media plays these things.President Trump is the best
president I have ever seen run this country. He cares for our core values and
the constitution. Sometimes the President doesn't say things
in a polished political manner but I simply don't care. He speaks from his
heart and has accomplished more than any other president in the last 60 years!
There is one word for Mitt’s position. Smart.
Those who do not endorse President Trump will never again get my vote.
There are those within the RNC crowd who believe that this POTUS is becoming a
liability to them.
As a life long conservative and republican I am not ready to endorse Senator
Romney who behaves more liberally than conservatively or any of the others who
are of his mindset. I would not vote for Senator Romney in a primary and did
not in the last.
I am a conservative and i would not vote for Romney or Herbert. I really dont
care how they feel about anything. I have two flags flying in my front yard. An
American, and a Trump. God bless them both.
This is just pure Politics. These crafty politicians do not want to endorse
early so as not to offend anyone.
How strange; people like what Trump has done and what he has tried to do (
replace Obamacare ), but, don't like Trump the man. Do actions not speak
louder than words. How these times have flipped the wisdom of ages. Reason has
I am happy to have a president that 1)won't be bought by anyone(he has his
own funds & does't need theirs, 2)supports our military and police,
3)is PROUD to be an American and unlike most liberials and especially the former
person in office doesn't apologize for being one, 4)is SUCCESSFULLY
boosting and maintaining a healthy economy!I will continue to support this
I still will never understand how people elected a president that cheats on his
taxes, has extra marital affairs, pays porn stars for sex, cheats workers out of
their pay checks by claiming bankruptcy, and the list of scummy things goes on
on. Yet you criticize Obama ... Love to break the news to you all
this growth were seeing with the Economy and Jobs are previous Obama policies
at work (look it up ) Trump Policies if anything hurt her the economy. Trade
Wars, Tax reform, Closed borders ... are those are the only 3 thing trump has
done.. Lol yet you think the economy is recovering due to trump policies
bawahaha now it makes sense why you voted for Trump.
"Sen. Mitt Romney, other Utah leaders not ready to endorse President Donald
Trump"Does it matter? Most of them didn't endorse Trump in
2016 and he still won. This is a big reason Trump is so detested by
the pompous Washington-based elites of the Republican Establishment: He has
publicly demonstrated their irrelevance. Thanks to Trump Mitt Romney is just a
senator from Utah, not a leader of a national party.
@DaveWY - my feelings exactly. I've voted my whole life for GOP candidates
until Trump. His behavior and treatment of others and our Constitution are why I
will never vote for him. He and his sons and campaign manager sought the help of
Russians. Now he seeks to destroy the DOJ and others who investigated him. This
man is criminal. That anyone would support him because he appoints conservative
judges is unconscionable. Anyone, any other GOP candidate could appoint
conservative judges. My dog could appoint conservative judges. He's done absolutely nothing, zero, zip, nada for the economy. He's
made things worse for the auto industry by lifting emissions standards while the
Chinese are exploding in the electric car industry and solar panels. He's
lifted regulations to pollute our air and water. He's started useless trade
wars even against our allies. Given tax breaks to wealthy corporations.
He's cozied up to the Russians and Putin walks all over him. He's
promoted his own businesses as POTUS and makes at last count nearly $300 million
a year off his presidency. He has campaigned every single week since he was
elected. This is a short list of why I would never, ever vote Trump.
"Trump is business man... not a politician. He believes in getting things
done not kow-towing to the public."First of all, if you inherit
a real estate empire from daddy, it is hard not to be successful, Secondly,
lets talk about billion dollar bankruptcies. Thirdly, he's really an
entertainer and brand hawker, not a business person. The myth Trump
created about his business acumen is just that. A Myth.
Romney is following what many of his constituents want. He represents pretty
well what my extended family and friends want. I finally feel that I have
someone approaching Trump the way I want. Support good policies and call out bad
actions. For those complaining about Romney, consider the possibility
that Utah Republican voters see things more like he does than you do. Don't
just assume he's not following his base.
A lot on this board seem to think that not enduring Trump is the same as
endorsing a democrat candidate. They may in fact just end up endorsing another
Republican with a similar agenda.
So are they waiting for him to become a good person, a competent president?
It's amazing the clarity a politico has when he/she does not have to worry
about re-election.Thank you Senator Romney for your refusal to fall
in line with people who have sold their souls for whatever their 30 pieces of
silver will purchase.Fire trump 2020.
What Senator Romney continues to forget is that his decisions should represent
what the voters who elected him want, not what he thinks personally. If he
continues to think that he knows more than the rest of us, then the voters will
not re-elect him. He needs to vote how his constituents want him to vote. Same
goes for the rest of them.
President Trump has stopped the decline of the U.S. The economy is the best it
has been in years, we are getting judges appointed to the courts that actually
respect the Constitution, and one can again say "God Bless America" and
"Merry Christmas!" All the Democratic candidates for President want open
borders, abortion anytime anywhere, and prefer the LGBTQ+ agenda over
traditional marriage. I'm voting for President Trump in 2020. These Utah
Republicans need to get behind the President!
Wonder what kind of a patriot would endorse this guy?"North
Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and
others, but not me. I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to
me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Biden a low IQ individual,
& worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?" - Trump today.I'm disturbed that our president is not disturbed. I'm
disturbed that he has confidence in a murderous dictator. I'm disturbed
that he thinks it's funny for said murderous dictator to demean our former
vice-president. We are living a nightmare.
Romney is smart. Romney is wise. Romney is courageous. You don't think
Romney knows there are Republicans that would support Trump even if Trump shot
up someone on Wall Street? Romney knows he'll take flak for ever speaking
out against Trump, even when Trump is wrong. And Trump is wrong a lot.I think Romney is one of the most courageous and honest politicians in
Congress right now.As a conservative, I would support a different
conservative over Trump. Any conservative president could have given us Gorsich
and Kavenaugh. But other conservative president's would have been
presidential at the same time while in office. I like Trump's policies--we
can get that from other conservatives. Where do you think Trump gets his
policies? He doesn't come up with that stuff on his own because he
doesn't read (you know that, right?). He gets it from others. I don't like Trump's persona. Good on Romney!
mney: "I think he could substantially improve his game". Well
yeah....Let's face it, Romney will probably fall into line. So
sad. To my mind, the greatest problem is Rep. leaders looking the
other way while Trump takes a wrecking ball to everything. I hardly blame Trump
at this point. He is a man with many inadequacies, and I don't think he
even knows what they are. But he can't/won't change. He's the
accidental president, and he's in over his head. R's in
congress know better. This is the really scary thing right now. IMO they are not
honoring their oath of office-far from it. Justin Amash is truly a
Never wanted to hear all Romney all the time, an I could do with out it now.
There he goes again.
Yeah, they won’t, right until they do. You’ll be able to track it on
a Jason chaffetz graph with no axes.
DaveWY, I'm the same. Life long Republican that could never ever vote for
the Don. I totally support and appreciate Senator Romney. The so
called "fake news" just reports the constant juvenile narcissistic
behavior of the ultimate demagogue.
Why can't people look at Trump for what he has done for our country since
he has been President? He may have an anoying and childish personality, but he
has kept his campaign promises and he has accomplished a lot of good things. I
don't understand why so many Utahns (I am from Utah also) refuse to see the
good he has done and get all hung up on his personality. Obama did everything
so far to the left and wouldn't work at all with the republicans. He
scared me badly with how he did not defend our country. Now we have a
President who is doing the same in the opposite direction. Why can't Utah
I hope Senator Romney and other Utah leaders understand that endorsing and
supporting President Trump is critical: To prevent repealing the
religious protections of the First Amendment, unrestricted abortion and
infanticide, Iran getting nuclear weapons, higher taxes, more regulations,
restricting gas, oil and coal exploration, open borders, China stealing our
intellectual property, turning over our uranium supply to Russia, turning our
back on Israel, socialization of health care, repealing the speech protections
and right to assembly protections of the First Amendment. See Thomas Lifson. These issues have a large impact on “shaping the character of the
country.” Personal qualities are important but so too are public
policies. Moderation and soft support for the president become moderation a
soft support for critical values and goals.
@DaveWY:"However the bottom line for me is his outright juvenile
behavior and statements."Trump is business man... not a
politician. He believes in getting things done not kow-towing to the public.
"His behavior is terribly juvenile and divisive at a time when
we need leadership that will unite us."I suppose you think the
leaders of the opposing party (i.e., Chuck Shumer and Nancy Pelosi) demonstrate
the epitome of admirable leadership.
Proud of Romney for continuing to take the moral high ground.Thank you,
Senator for you exemplary service.
Let's see,Ann Romney uses social media to uplift and enlighten
while Trump uses it to divide and attack.Ann has raised millions to
support medical research while Trump has hidden his taxes because he likely
wants to hide how little he really gave to charity and how he has used the Trump
foundation to promote himself.Ann has been a faithful spouse and
successful parent. Ann has fought and endured MS. Trump has faced
the incredible limitations of bone spurs. She's naturally
tanned, she's rested, she's smart and she's ready...Ann Romney for President, because hindsight is 2020.
Mitt Romney on CNN is to be taken seriously? Really?? What a disappointment!I am definitely supporting Donald Trump for President in 2020. I
certainly don't want a GOP establishment member or a liberal Democrat! The
President has my full support.
Well I'll be darned, Mitt and "other leaders" actually have a
spine. Maybe, just maybe, there may be silver lining in the dastardly Utah GOP
after all. Times are changing indeed.
Sounds to me according to Mitt and other leaders Utah is becoming Democratic
State. I sure hope not.
It is only honest to say you don't know, because we don't know who
Trump will be running against. To at this point already have made up your mind
just shows that a person doesn't take the process seriously and is only
voting for a party, rather than a candidate and what they stand for.How in the world could someone have decided who they will endorse at this
point. Its like saying you've decided what your going to order without
even seeing the menu. Crazy people today... and a stupid question by the
reported.Way premature to be asking those questions.
Glorious Leader must be defended at all cost. For the good of the Party,
backsliders like Romney must be purged. The career politicians, globalists and
their media hacks need to be identified and eliminated from the Party to
preserve the New Greater America. Those who disobey Glorious Leader
will not be re-elected, regardless of Party.
@red smith"Never a negative word about Hillary or Obama from
Mitt"Neither Hillary nor Obama are running for President in
2020, and Romney has said nothing false about Trump.
I will never support a politician just because s/he belongs or doesn’t
belong to a specific party and I applaud politicians who place country over
party. President Trump has made good and bad policy decisions but
those choices are largely made by advisors and would be similar under most
republican presidents. The president has failed in moral and ethical leadership
which are in many ways more important parts of his job since no one else can
fill those voids when he falls short. A large portion of Americans are
embarrassed by the president and he’s a joke around the world. If we want
the US to lead the world we need a leader who can actually lead the nation. I wish the president would announce we won’t seek re-election to
allow for a real leader to run in his place (I’m not comfortable with the
democratic candidates either).
The man in the White House has been a self-promoting confidence man all his
adult life. He seems incapable of telling the truth. That Utah Republicans
support him at any level is far beyond my understanding.
#disappointed again with Mitt
I think it is time for Romney to seriously consider resigning. Romney is a political loser in that he cant advance a Republican agenda. For
the majority of Utah who voted for him, that goes against their wishes. If he
cant support a Republican candidate who was illegally targeted by the leaders of
the FBI and CIA to prevent his election and later on to falsely obstruct his
administration, then you belong with the Democrats. Trumps
re-election really will be the turning point for this great country. A world
class fall will occur if he loses and we adopt everything the Dems represent.
Mitt and Mia. Mia decided to do her own thing and move ahead without Trump
support. She is now out of the picture. Mitt is following the same path. I
wonder if he will end up the same as Mia. I hope so!
Never a negative word about Hillary or Obama from Mitt, just chronic Trump
bashing.Who does Mitt think he is sitting in moral judgement on
Trump. Mitt is not God. Like Saul of Tarsus who became a great man, Trump is a
changed man doing a great work - a man raised up for our times.May
God continue to bless and protect President Trump.
These NeverTrump "Republicans" can continue to hold their breath. It's not his policies or his economy or his judges they don't like.
It's his style. He's not like the Boston Brahmins, and neither am I.
Romney figured out long ago that if you want national press attention, slam
Trump. They eat it up. Here is a former candidate, GOP senator from red state
Utah...and he doesn't like what Trump is doing. So, they run the
cameras and put him on the Sunday shows. Mitt loves the national attention. These stories aren't about Trump; they are about Mitt.Romney has yet to figure out that America doesn't want Jeb. The GOP will
lose with the establishment candidates. Mitt is stuck in the old Karl Rove
Pres. Trump reminds me of the Book of Mormon king, Moriantum, who did justice
unto the people but not unto himself. I'll vote for Trump again because he
defends the life of the unborn, traditional marriage, and religious freedom. He
has made a positive economic impact. He's business-friendly.I'm disappointed in Romney.
The Utah GOP needs to find someone other than Romney.
I supported Mitt Romney and voted him President. I will support Donald Trump and
vote him President no matter what Mitt decides to do.
For the sake of the United States, the State of Utah, and all their people, all
of the Utah leaders must stand united against trump and work to repair the
damage he is doing to this country and its people. trump is a clar and present
danger to us all, and must be resisted and curtailed and curbed at every turn.
He is not a "conservative" and, from the evidence in his life, it's
clear that he doesn't believe any of that dogma -- he is a conman who is
playing on "conservative" dogma to subvert the will of the people. This
must not be allowed.
I have voted for a Republican candidate in every election since I could vote
nearly since Nixon (I would like a redo on that one) until the last election. I
could not and would still not ever vote for Trump. There are actions he has
taken as president I support. I like many of the judicial nominations hehas
made. Unlike his predecessor, I know he supports our law enforcement and
military. However the bottom line for me is his outright juvenile behavior
and statements. His behavior is terribly juvenile and divisive at a time when
we need leadership that will unite us. He acts like a junior high bully. We
deserve better than this in our nation's highest office. It is precisely
the right question to ask "young people as well as people around the world
look at the president of the United States and say, 'Does he exhibit the
kind of qualities that we would want to emulate".For me the answer is
a resounding "NO WAY"
Come on Mitt (and others). If you're Republican, support the president.
Or explain why you don't.
Trump has a tough job going up against the left wing media and politicians who
are out to get him and don’t like that he pushes back against them. He
probably would do better without Romney’s support anyway, it would get the
Well we're ready to endorse Mr. President. Glad Romney wasn't
Absolutely pathetic Mr. Romney, but not surprising. I heard you were backing
