    BC-Cali21,

If laws prevented crimes there would be no criminals. Laws punish criminal behavior.

Justice? Yes. Understanding? Color me doubtful. This seems completely senseless, and I doubt any information will emerge in proceedings against Mr. Llano which will make it any less so. Condolences to Mr. Gwyther's family, friends, and acquaintances.

According to Cassia County Sheriff Jay Heward, he did not crash into a canal, "ultimately he crashed his car into the Raft River near Yale Road and I-86."

After his escape from the crash site, Llana broke into an area home and stole an ATV. Later, he stopped at a ranch to ask for directions and after he left, the person there called the Cassia County Sheriff's office. Shortly thereafter, Llana was apprehended.

Jonathan Llana was captured about 10 miles from where he crashed his car.

Jonathan Llana is being held at the Mini-Cassia Criminal Justice center in Burley, Idaho.

This is wrong and senseless! This guy has a long list of crimes throughout the country...he’s probably on parole and can’t own a gun, yet he does. Gun laws save no one. I hope this guy gets put away for a very long, long time. My heart goes out to the family. May God bless them to find peace and comfort.

Most impressive both this article and its writing as well as the law enforcement response and quick containment of the situation. Too bad so many of today's news reports and crimes can't be so easily wrapped up in this fashion. Hopefully, justice and some understanding will eventually come out because of the actions of our truly dedicated and methodical law officers involved here.
