    While livestock owners are not "strictly liable" like the owners of dogs, they are still held to a "reasonable standard of care" in maintaining the enclosures their animals are kept in. This is a wrongful death case that will presented to the horse owner's liability company.

    In Utah I believe there is no liability for livestock owners whose animals escape from barns or fenced areas resulting in vehicular/animal accidents.

    Why liability for livestock should be any different than the liability for your dÓberman that harms someone is anyone’s guess.
