@Mr. Boris - Layton, UT"I will never understand why so many Ute
fans comment on BYU articles...."-------------------But do you understand why so many BYU fans comment on Utah articles? Both
happen with frequency. The fact is, you do really understand. You
just like to say that. Seems like you feel it gives some form of upper hand
maybe?Hot take......it's a rivalry. Both sides like to banter.
And it seems there is much more passionate interest in beating Utah and mocking
all things Utah, from the BYU fan base than there is currently going back the
other way. While you may not respond to Utah articles, you certainly
respond to Utes commenting on articles. 1) There really isn't
much difference. 2) If you don't understand, then you
don't understand the rivalry in general.
"I will never understand why so many Ute fans comment on BYU articles. I
don't comment on Ute articles . . ."Mr. BorIs &
Natasha:Since the article mentions Bradley Anae, you are definitely
commenting on a Ute article!
@BlueHusky - Saratoga Springs, UTI enjoy, and yet don't
understand, the BYU fan hubris.Putting BYU in with UW is just
funny.BYU may be better than they were last yr. But they also went
6-6 pre bowl game losing to NIU at home in Provo. I hope for your sake BYU is
better. They've gone 20-19 over the last 3 seasons. And one of those
seasons was a good season. Last 2 yrs, BYU has lost 15 games.
Including games to ECU, UMass (@ home) NIU (@ home), etc. As an
independent BYU has yet to beat a PAC12 team with a winning record. So,
it's particularly funny when you say the PAC12 is so weak. Last yr., BYU
posted a 1-3 record against the lowly PAC12. Can't wait for
the rivalry game this yr. It won't be a trap game for Utah, and as such, I
don't think it will be a close game. But we will let the teams do the
talking for us on the field.Good luck.
Poor AZUTE. Only joy in life is a BYU defeat. Sad.But cheer up. Utah
will lose to the big boys in the mighty PAC12. After firing yet another OC,
Whittingham will be fielding a new offense. BYU will be improved this year. But mighty Utah won't care ... they are in a P5 conference. As is WSU, OSU, ASU, UA, Cal and Colorado. Mighty powers, all. And BYU
recently beat both UA and ASU. Sadly, the PAC12 was the bottom of the P5
conferences last year. Thankfully, the PAC12 plays BYU every year. And every
game is nationally televised. How many Utah games are nationally televised?
Certainly one at least. When they play BYU.Anyway, let's play
the game and see what's what. Whittingham, a BYU grad, is good at beating
BYU, and even beat Washington once. Good luck, Utes. Better luck, BYU. And UW
doesn't need luck. Go Dawgs. Go Cougs.
azute11985 BYU's "epic" 16-23 loss to UTEP (1-10),wasn't nearly as costly and embarrassing, as 2007
Utah's 0-27 shutout loss to UNLV (2-10), whose only other win was against
10-loss Utah State, the year before Utah's greatest season ever. That loss destroyed any momentum Utah might have had going into 2008 and was
one of the many reasons why Utah was never a legitimate national championship
BlueCoug"Marc Wilson's shoulder injury prevented him from
getting enough zip on the ball on three passes to the side line that ended in
pick 6's."The game was tied 10-10 and BYU was driving for
the go ahead TD, when Wilson's pass was intercepted at the UTEP goal line
and returned 100 yards for TD to give the Miners a 10-17 lead.As
LaVell said afterwards, BYU got impatient in the 2nd half, not taking the run
that UTEP was giving them after cutting the UTEP lead to 16-20.
azute1"Did injuries play a role in BYU’s epic L against
1-10 Utep in ‘85, their sole W on the year?"Actually,
injuries played a role in all three BYU losses in 1985.Marc
Wilson's shoulder injury prevented him from getting enough zip on the ball
on three passes to the side line that ended in pick 6's.BYU
1985 lost all three game by a TD or less, to #7 UCLA 24-27, to UTEP
16-23, and to #14 Ohio State 7-10, yet unlike Utah 2007, BYU
still ended the season with 11+ wins, a win over #8 Air Force (the best team in
Air Force history), another conference championship, and #16/#17 final rankings.

Did injuries play a role in byu-p’s epic L against 1-10 Utep in ‘85,
their sole W on the year?
“Let's make no mistake. BYU will never be the little brother in the
state of Utah.“Sure byu-p is & always has been, as
evidenced during 61-34-4.....Always has been & always will be.8
straight & counting, 13 of 16 & 18 of 26——How does that grab
Kind (and true) words from Mr. Korver.
utemythology"Injuries in 2017 is not why BYU lost to 4-8 ECU and
at home to 3-9 UMass."Injuries in 2007 are not why Utah was shut
out 0-27 by UNLV (2-10).
Funny. BYU fans realize this is just a pointless puff peace during a slow point
in the football news cycle. Yet in rush the obsessed and insecure to stomp on
it like the beginning of a wild fire.Rise and Shout!!
Let's make no mistake. BYU will never be the little brother in the state
of Utah.Utah is more talented with a better situation in the PAC 12.
No doubt about that. But as far as the little brother goes it will always be
the Utes. My little brothers were better than me at football but I'm still
the big brother.Ute fans obsession with all things BYU just proves
it. I will never understand why so many Ute fans comment on BYU articles. I
don't comment on Ute articles because I don't read Ute articles
because my thoughts on the Utes is complete indifference. I don't care
enough about the Utes to read or comment and I'm a U of U alum. The college football in Michigan is the best comparison. Michigan St. has
beat Michigan like 8 out of 10 times but when anybody thinks of football in
Michigan it is the Wolverines, not the Spartans. The state of Utah
is similar, Utah will always take a backseat to BYU regardless of talent,
conference, or win streaks. And right now the best football team in
the state of Utah is the Aggies and the Utes are too afraid to play them.
Injuries in 2017 is not why BYU lost to 4-8 ECU and at home to 3-9 UMass.
It's so cute to see the blue faithful predicting another win against their
Big Brother, just like they have for the past 9 years. 😹
Cougars will win a lot of games. How long will it take to get W#1: One game!
Likely to go into September 1-0.
byu-p might reach .500 this year, but the real question is how long it takes
them to notch W #1—1 month? Longer?As I’ve stated
previously, their best shot @ an early W will be @ UT.Go Utes!
I'd say 7+ wins is optimistic.
It would be a significant accomplishment for BYU to finish with 8+ wins this
