    Climate change occurs over a period of millions and millions of years, Not 2 decades.

    No. The snow is gone, and it's time to clean up the dog's mess. At least it used to be.

    We're not getting another dog.

    You don't understand. Lee has been told, since a very early age, that his main responsibility is to populate the planet. And, now, 40 years later, he still believes it.

    “Kicking the can down the road” is what the Republican tax law did too.

    For example:
    December 31st, 2025, will be a significant day for most taxpayers. Twenty-three provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act directly relating to individual income taxes will expire, meaning most taxpayers will see a tax hike unless some or all provisions are extended. Some of the most impactful provisions scheduled to expire include the TCJA’s reduction of individual income rates, increased child tax credit, the increased AMT exemption and phaseout threshold, and the increased standard deduction.

    (They had to let some tax cuts expire in order to for it adhere to budget rules. Note: some other tax cuts benefitting wealthier people do not expire)

    We got out of the depression because of the war.

    And, that whole show Lee put on was...stupid.

    @Diligent Dave
    "The earth isn't warming, BTW, but cooling. "

    That's false. The 5 warmest years in the modern era were the most recent 5 years.

    "Glacial melting is likely caused by factors other than supposed carbon caused air pollution."

    It's caused by the warming you want to believe doesn't exist. And the warming mostly comes from a massive surge in anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions

    @Samantha

    You may have missed Senator Lee's point. It is to have hope for the future, and trust in future generations. The answer to blatant fear-mongering is optimism.

    Meanwhile we do our best to leave our children the best world possible. Not the one contemplated by the absurd Green New Deal.

    Samantha Aramburu, Mike Lee has it right. You have it wrong. Consider just the economics of what you're talking about. The US has been having babies at a sub-replacement rate since 1970 (I was a high school sophomore then & am 65 years old now)).

    The Great Recession (from which we never fully recovered, with much added financial debt, was really caused by demographic debt caused by sub-replacement birth rates. (So, BTW, was the Great Depression, when birth rates began to fall in 1911 when 3% of US women left home to work outside the home.

    The so-called Baby Boom (1946-1964) was the reason we got out of the Great Depression. Market Demand is what drives economic growth. Birth Dearths (those that preceded & followed the baby boom are what led to recession & depression.

    People in e onomic recession & depression can't afford 'green eco-enviromentalism.

    The earth isn't warming, BTW, but cooling. Glacial melting is likely caused by factors other than supposed carbon caused air pollution.

    God's wisdom is superior to man's false wisdom. Truly, the "wisdom of the wise" has long already perished. We need to turn to God & his solutions. Dissolution of the family is our biggest problem.

    "It is our time. This is our world. This is our mess. Let’s do what we can to clean it."

    If the younger generations want a significant say in what they have to deal with in their future, they need to show up at the polls. If they're waiting for their parents and grandparents to do the right thing by them and their children, they aren't paying attention.

    So if the young want it to be their time, they need to make it their time. The mechanism is there. In the meantime, I'll be doing my part by voting for people who WILL be living the future (and who have rational, practical ideas).

    With this in mind, I suggest that all liberals and moderate-to-sane conservatives give a good listen to Pete Buttigieg.
