    Politics should never be involved when doing districts at any level. Once politics is involved, it changes the narrative from Voters choosing their Representatives to one of Representatives choosing who they will represent.

    That in itself should be unconstitutional and represents, in large part, why the current system is broken. Many people feel they aren't being represented at any level.

    It may be that changing to an independent redistricting committee won't change the balance or even result in any additional seats for another party but it should result in more people voting as they feel that their votes will have more impact as they aren't having their votes clustered or discounted.
