Hutterite; She is no threat! Nobody, including you, is going to give up fossil fuels and freeze to death in winters! Which presents you and her with a supernal dilemma: Death by freezing in winters or death by global warming--in 12 years!

The picture does say it all. A young person. Female. Smart.

    No wonder she's a threat.

The picture attached to this article says it all. The new face of the dems/socialists/libs/ lefties is only one reason why Trump will win in a landslide. They have no platform.

In 1973 when I was a senior in high school we were required to do a report on one of the three impending crises, which were: mass starvation from overpopulation, depletion of oil supplies, or the coming ice age. There was no shortage of information on any of these topics because the most respected journals all had articles quoting what the "scientists" and "experts" foresaw as inevitable catastrophes. I chose to do my report on the "fact" that "experts" and "scientists" said oil reserves would be depleted within 30 years. Oops, they were wrong. And oops, they were wrong about the world not being able to feed its people, and oops they were wrong about going into an ice age. I suspect that young people are completely unaware of these failed predictions by "experts" and "scientists" in the past. The Jews have a saying, "Man plans, and God laughs."

With reference to the progressive Green New Deal, remember that it is just an idea being put forward to deal with climate change. Like many ideas, it is dangerous. The same as democracy, or the ideas put forth in the Declaration of Independence that "all men are created equal". Some people fear ideas. The Green New Deal is being set on the table, but rather than have a discussion, Republicans appear to be in full rejection mode since that is how our politics have degraded over the last 40 years.

Instead of debating ideas, politicians prefer to gather around their partisan loyalties and refuse to talk about anything members of the opposite tribe might propose. Rather than discuss what might be accomplished as a practical means of dealing with changing climate and the horrendous climatic storms and destruction we are currently facing, the idea of a policy that might mitigate our collective problem has become a partisan dividing line that is criticized before it is even understood.

The Green New Deal is an idea. It is not the final matter on the issue. But we can't get to anything if we can't even discuss these ideas. This is one suggestion. What do you suggest to fix the problem?

Extreme Republicans deny global warming exists, extreme Democrats want to stop it at any cost. Both ignore reality.

We need to understand the consequences before we start spending resources. If our food supply is compromised then we should be more motivated than if it simply has a marginal effect with some bad weather.

The "Green New Deal" is a costly solution without understanding the whole problem.
