    Congratulations, Utah is

the 4th best team in the state,

the 105th team in the country,

    and U were once again

    dominated by BYU

    by double digits.

    ------

I am here talking about NCAA wins and all you talk about is beating Utah.

Last 5 years, Utah is the top basketball program in the State.

Congratulations Aggies on a great season! You won some clutch games in conference and you made it to the dance. You're definitely trending upward. UW has great defense and went through the PAC undefeated in the first half of conference. Nothing to be ashamed of. Regardless of what others may say, it's about matchups in college ball.

Actually they played down to 17 points below Washington's level.

Sad that the Aggies were "one and done." It just underscores the poor state of basketball in Utah. At least the Aggies made it to the Big Dance even if they stumbled. They had a good year and next year looks promising as well. It's been hard watching the Cougars this year. If Yoeli jumps ship, BYU will be even weaker than this year. I don't see the Utes being that much better either. Will the Aggies be the lone Utah team in post-season play again next year? Hope not.

Looks like the Aggies played down to Washington’s level. Happens to most teams when you play a team that’s smaller and more sloppy.

Also the Aggies were probably preparing for North Carolina when they should have been getting ready for the Huskies. Understandable given the fact you only have a couple of days to practice.

    ---------------

No, the Aggies were actually preparing for the Final Four when they should have been getting ready for an early exit. Like they do every NCAA tournament.

    LOL @ BYU fans

    -------

    No, that's a 2nd rate tournament.

I was wrong, Utah has SEVEN NCAA tournament wins this century when we our program has been abysmal.

Utah State has SIX in it's entire history.

Next time, stop with the "We want North Carolina" slogans. Leave that type of hype to BYU fans.

A good season for the Aggies and their fans. Many of the fans need to obtain a more nearly realistic view of basketball reality or they are in danger of being viewed by the rest of us as laughably delusional as are byu fans.

Well now we know where we are as compared to the best of the PAC 12 and where we gotta go. I believe that Coach Smith will get us there. I can't help thinking that playing in the NCAA tournament is a lot like love. "It is better to have danced (played) and lost than to have never danced (played) at all." The Aggies and Coach Smith will learn, and with the majority of our team back next year, we will be better. Congratulations to the Washington Huskies, hope they continue to play well. I hope there are more teams representing Utah in the NCAA's next year.

When one goes against the big boys of the Pac 12, it's probably a good idea to bring a lunch because the Pac 12ers play the en--tire game. USU spent a whole lotta time talking about how they were the best team in the state of Utah this year and while that is correct, a couple of caveats there. Number one--being the best team in Utah this year is a little like being hailed as the best ski resort in Mississippi and two---the Utes are Pac 12 baby. They will be back. Down a bit because of youth but---we be gettin' there baby---we talkin' Pack tuh--wellllllve brutha! You know--the place ya'lled love to be. Nice season Aggies! Seriously tough squad!

Utteology: 1960 to 1970 Utah State Basketball went to the NCAA tournament 4 times (another one in 1971), which included 2 sweet sixteens and a final eight (In 1970, they may have won it but their best player sprained his ankle the night before the game and was barely able to walk on the floor, let alone play). Whether that was conveniently left out or not, I don't know. That was also when only 24 teams were invited to the NCAA, which you may have been conveniently, or not, left out as well. They also went to the NIT one year, which at the time was comparable to the NCAA. The team choose to go to the NIT because one player was ineligible to play in the NCAA. If you want to talk history, you can't leave out parts of it to make somebody else look better.

3-1 thus far, 2 still playing.
    1-1, 1 still playing.
0-2 & out of The Tourney entirely.

    This jives w/conference rankings—

    PAC-12 > wcc > mwc.

Still doesn’t change the fact that, according to NCAA NET team rankings, the #104 Utes were only the 4th best team in the state,

behind #29 Utah State, #85 BYU and #90 UVU,

and BYU beat both the Utes and the Aggies by 15 points.

It’s hilarious how Utes fans have become Huskies and Ducks fans, after mocking BYU fans for becoming Zags fans.

The hypocrisy on the hill is astounding.

We’ll see what happens to Washington Sunday. And, Iregon looked good over Wisconsin.

But, I think most of the high school basketball talent knows that if you want a chance to go to the Final Four, you go to college in the East, or in Spokane.

Let's see, BYU trips the utes by 15 points. BYU rips usu by 15 points. WCC has a winning record against the pac, 10-7.
The way I see it BYU is the best team followed by USU in 2nd, with Utah Valley coming in a strong 3rd. WSU would be 4th. That leaves Cyprus High 5th and the utes 6th. Sounds about right.

Maybe next time Utah State won't overlook a #9 seed.

This century, even though Utah has been mostly abysmal, we still have more NCAA wins (5) than BYU, Utah State, UVC, Weber State, and Southern Utah combined (4).

    SAD!

    Dear pacmidmajor:

No spin necessary on ASU's play-in game victory. That spin was validated by BYU's 2012 victory over Iona in a similar play-in game. You know, the one that BYU counts on it's web page as an NCAA Tournament win. Just thought you would like to know.

USU best team in Utah but not ready for prime time. Perhaps PAC 12 isn’t as overrated in basketball as it was in football. Aggies had a spectacular season. Washington may really be good if they beat North Carolina. My money would be on the Tar Heels but Washington’s zone is good.

Dissappointing loss for USU. Overall they had a good season, exceeded expectations and good to see a team represent the state. No reason for others to gloat over Pac XII winning some games. With all the money, resources, better talent, etc that the Pac XII has over the smaller conferences, it does not make up for how underwhelming they have been all season. There is only once school in the entire West that will go far in the tourney and it plays in the WCC.
With most players returning USU will hopefully and finally win at least one next year.

A lot of dubious comments from fans of the 5th best team in the state of Utah this year .... You may want to tone it down a bit as ASU got embarrassed today as will Washington on Sunday ... you also need to realize that asu’s win was a play in game to even get into the field of 64 so go ahead and spin that how you want ....
