Denver seems to get more cancellations than any other airport in the west. A friend who is a retired pilot said the absolute worst place to build a new airport, due to the potential for bad weather, would be 15 miles east of Denver. Guess where DIA is located? I've had to divert to Colorado Springs in June when the Denver airport was closed due to a small rain storm. But no problem, we landed, waited a half hour, then took 65 minutes to fly the 60 miles to Denver by going southeast, then southwest, then west, then north, then east, then south out of Wyoming back to Denver. Of course I missed my connection but I just rented a car to drive to Riverton, Wyoming. No trouble or inconvenience, was it?
