Women haven't been frozen out of the construction trades. For the most part they just don't want to get in and get dirty. Nor do they want to sling around heavy weights hour after hour or do grunt work. Perhaps it isn't because they don't want to do it it is because they can't do it. They are just not physically designed to do it hour after hour, day after day. In my forty years in the construction trades working on massive projects I have only met several women (welders). Most of my work has been in the northern tier states. During winter the daily high for six weeks straight was -20 degrees. Coldest temperature I worked in was -53 degrees at 2:00 in the afternoon mid February. Women aren't looking for that kind of fun.
