Its hilarious they find no wrong from a guy like Trump who has lied and cheated his whole life. Right Wingers please detail how you are OK with him cheating on his wife ? Or Claiming Bankruptcy to cheat his contractors out of their paychecks ?

I mean if you went to work and on payday was told sorry you not getting paid would be OK with you ?

Or how about coming home one day and finding out your wife or husband has been fooling around with the neighbor or his secretary ? That would be OK with you ? Yet you devote your full allegiance to Trump for standards you wouldn't put with. So Sad

I think Trump is a bad guy. I don't know how any conservatives could vouch for his character. I think he probably did most of what Cohen said he did to a lesser or greater extent. Honestly, there isn't proof of collusion still, nor proof of subornation of perjury. Those are the big ones. The minor charges with misappropriation of charitable funds, or campaign funds probably won't meet the rigors of articles of impeachment. But who knows, there's blood in the water for a Dem-controlled House.

All that said, the most ironic thing here is that the Dems and liberals are literally playing into Trump's hands. The more they cry fowl, point fingers, label Trump as "illegitimate", call him a liar, cheat, racist, and everything else, the more they stir up the republican base. As a libertarian, independent voter it's actually fascinating to watch...and disturbing. I'm afraid of another election where I can't stomach either D or R and will have to vote I or write-in. I pray every day we can be better...but agency has the last word.

How ironic that a known liar who is going to prison and even went so far to tape his client (our President) without Trump's knowledge, is now calling our President a liar. This is yet another a sad attempt by the Democrats to try to smear the President of the United States. We have seen it time and time again. They're pretty desperate. Also it is a known fact that Cohen was expecting a position in the President's Administration. No one forced Cohen to commit the crimes he did and he got caught and is going to prison. He is trying to get his sentence reduced after being found guilty of his own crimes. Mueller has come up empty on Russia Collusion by Trump after two years of digging. This is so sad that our President must continue to deal with this while trying his best to lead our Country.

"All of the indictments and convictions have been for lying to the fbi about nothing to do with russia and for previous crimes committed unrelated to trump."

No. Michael Flynn was convicted about lying when asked about his meetings with Russians. In fact, Jeff Sessions lied about the same thing, as did Jared Kushner, Trump Jr., Paul Manafort and Richard Gates and others. The only thing consistent with these people is lying about meeting with Russians. Some evaded prosecution by amending statements. Others remained defiant and were indicted.

The question is, Why did they lie? Flynn didn't have to lie. Neither did Sessions. Kushner, Trump Jr., Manafort, and Gates may have had some other motive to keep their meeting with Russians quiet. Manafort and Constantine Kilimnic certainly needed to keep their meeting secret since information was passed to Kilimnic with Russian intelligence ties.

This is all separate from the work at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of New York which is looking into the Trump Campaign, Trump Transition, Trump Family, Trump Organization, Trump Foundation and practically anything else Trump.

"If Trump were such a crook and Cohen such a saint why would he stay for ten years?"

It is a crude assumption thinking that Michael Cohen was a "saint". He stayed because he was good at his job and he made a lot of money enabling Donald Trump to do the things he did. Didn't you see the documents that Cohen produced for the hearing. They were both crooks.

It may be that Cohen lied before Congress because Trump wanted him to lie as he testified when asked why he did what he did. Also, he lied to protect himself because he may have thought telling the truth would be more harmful to himself. However, he got caught.

Cohen had time to consider the situation he was in. Perhaps you can understand that facing a stretch in prison can make a man change his ways. You can consider him a liar and convicted felon, but you can't dismiss the evidence he produced suggesting the fraud he was involved with when dealing with Trump. Tax fraud. Bank fraud. Paying off women in violation of campaign finance laws.

We have two liars. Let Trump produce his financial statements to Deutsche Bank and his tax returns for the past 20 years.

"Please provide a list of names of the trump associates individuals indicted and convicted for colluding with russians in a conspiracy to effect the election in trumps favor?"

You are right. No indictments of Trump campaign associates have been handed down for colluding with the Russians. We have news reports of campaign staff and Russians involved in possible conspiracy, but nothing where an actual indictment has been handed down. The closest we have is Paul Manafort and Constantine Kilimnik currently under investigation.

We have Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr (with Manafort) meeting with Russians to obtain information harmful to the Clinton campaign. Nothing has yet come from the investigation of Roger Stone. Michael Cohen indicated that Stone was working with WikiLeaks and Julian Assange through a third person. WikiLeaks is reported to be a conduit for materials stolen by the Russians.

We also have Kushner reported to have sought a communications back-channel through the Russian embassy to avoid discovery by the NSA. So, the Mueller investigation continues and we will see what comes out. It's far from over.

Please provide a list of names of the trump associates individuals indicted and convicted for colluding with russians in a conspiracy to effect the election in trumps favor?

I watch cnn, msnbc and fox and not one of them are reporting a conviction or indictments for any individual associated with trumps campaign for conspiring with russians to throw the election.

All of the indictments and convictions have been for lying to the fbi about nothing to do with russia and for previous crimes committed unrelated to trump.

If anyone of those persons had already been convicted for russian collusion conspiracy then trump would have been impeached already.

And I have addressed trump is probably guilty of something but, tax fraud claims finance fraud claims is all hearsay until proven.

You have all missed my point again, and that is this investigation has yielded nothing in regards to trump russia collusion, but trump's political oponents used a fake dossier and the U.S. govt to spy on trump which is exactly what nixon did, based on lies, and now they are hunting for any crimes not related to russia to bring him down, a witch hunt, I pitty the next potus.

"So for the Trump haters out there the one statement that they fail to address is Cohen stating he has no evidence of trump colluding with russia."

Yes, that is correct. Everyone heard what Michael Cohen had to say, but it is not up to him to determine that issue. This is for Robert Mueller and no one knows what he has. However, we do know that members of the Trump campaign conspired and colluded with the Russians since we have numerous convictions and indictments. Mueller isn't finished and appears to have more to do.

However, you don't address the criminal conspiracy which Cohen outlined he was involved with and the role Individual-1 played in that conspiracy. In fact, we learn again, months after the NYTimes article on how the Trump family build its wealth on tax fraud schemes, where Trump used inflating his net worth to procure bank loans and deflating the value of his properties to secure lower taxes.

countryvoice3 - Salt Lake City, UT (March 1, 2019 8:12 a.m.) describes this criminal fraud succinctly with Trump manipulating the system for his own advantage. This should be of concern to every American tax payer.

Then why does Donald Trump embrace communist despots and admire their strong leadership? Why does he want to be like them and control our nation like they control theirs?

Does he know what "socialism" is? Or is it just a word. And do you know what socialism is since you are such a staunch opponent? Is free public education for our children socialist? Are free public libraries? What about free police and fire protection? What about any government service?

Look around. There are socialist programs all around you. That doesn't me we exist in an "either/or" society. We have all types of economic ideas incorporated into our society. Trump has no philosophical roots on economic theory beyond how much money he can make. He might embrace communism if it provided him the wealth that Vladimir Putin has accumulated while in power. In fact, communism never took root in this countries that Trump has great admiration for because those nations went immediately to a "haves/have not" societies.

Are you following the news reports that are coming out these last two years? Much of this you won't find on Fox News. That organization is a propaganda mill for Donald Trump, so maybe you don't know what is going on here, right?

The Russian collusion investigation involves Robert Mueller and his team of prosecutors and investigators. So far it has been demonstrated that members of Trump's campaign conspired and colluded with the Russians to interfere with our election in 2016. There have been multiple convictions and many indictments handed down so far. Perhaps there is nothing yet on Trump himself, but we have learned from Michael Cohen that Trump often distances himself from the activities of subordinates who carry out his wishes through a "code" of indicating what he wants.

However, the much greater threat, according to Chris Christie, is the U.S. Attorney's Office with the Southern District of New York. Pay attention. That investigation is spreading and has no boundaries. Therein is the problem that you appear not to see.

"Absolutely amazing even after all the testimony of tax fraud, infedility and just plain old criminal mischief Trump supporters continue to see no wrong."

Yeah I agree with this statement Trump is of ill character and is probably guilty of something, just like hillary personally financing the DNC thru 2016 elections talk about a conflict of interest, and lying to congress, but these will have to be proven in court the burden of proof is on the accuser and investigators.

However, infidility is not a federal crime, and seeking dirt on a political oponent even if it comes from russia isn't either.

So for the Trump haters out there the one statement that they fail to address is Cohen stating he has no evidence of trump colluding with russia. The original scope of this investigation is russia trump collusion and obviously based on the direction of the indictments and convictions in this investigation of which not one has anything to do with russian conspiracy.

An obvious witch hunt, if political foes can do this to a duly elected potus, it sets a dangerous presidence for any future president, a mockery to american voters, buyer beware.

"Pursuit of this line of questioning paralleled fellow Rep. Lacy Clay (D, MO) questions concerning instances in which Trump inflated his assets in order to obtain loans from Deutsche Bank"

Here's the example from Cohen documents and public documents.

Trump owns a house in upstate New York that he has used on financial statements since the late 90's. He bought it for 7.5 million (public). He used it as an asset on statements after 2012 and valued it at between 25 and 50 million. A swing but hey..Then the same house on a financial statement submitted to Deutsche Bank for a billion dollar loan listed the homes value at 291 million dollars. The next year in his financial statement he had to fill out to run for office he listed the home again at 25 to 50 million. That's bank fraud.

This is supported by public records. So we now have records supporting campaign finance fraud and bank fraud.

Collusion is the least of this mans worries.

Love the arrogance of these comments. Because someone disagrees with you, they are "low information". It is evidently completely reasonable to believe that two people looking at the same information could not under any circumstances come to up with different conclusions. One of the people must be "low information".... aka we all know what that is implying.

The reason we have a 12 person jury system is that it assumes 12 people will see the same evidence from different perspectives, and it will take all 12 to interpret that evidence the same way to get a guilty verdict. It is a high bar. And for good reasons.

The idea that ones own viewpoint is the only valid viewpoint is elitist at best. When we get Mueller's report, we will know a lot more. But there is not enough here yet to say anything definitive either way.

What we do know is neither of these men are credible by themselves. It shows the moral culture of the Trump organization in general.

    "There’s nothing there."

Did you not pay attention with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D, NY) began her questioning of Michael Cohen? It was very straightforward and without ambiguity. She asked about Donald Trump devaluing his golf resort properties to avoid paying local real estate taxes. It was very easy to follow as she inquired about possible tax fraud.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez started by referencing Trump Link, a golf course in the Bronx which was built with $127 million in taxpayer funds which allowed the Trump Organization to keep the first four years of revenue. How this questionable arrangement came about was not explained. However, she did focus on Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, FL, as an example of Trump's alleged deflation of his financial assets in order to lower his tax burden.

Pursuit of this line of questioning paralleled fellow Rep. Lacy Clay (D, MO) questions concerning instances in which Trump inflated his assets in order to obtain loans from Deutsche Bank. Cohen confirmed that Trump had provided inflated asset assessments to an insurance company in the past.

Tax fraud is a criminal act. Submitting inflated valuations of net worth to obtain a financial loan is bank fraud. These are two of the charges for which Cohen pleaded guilty and will go to prison. Now we have a line of investigation into Trump allegedly committing the same crimes to further his own fortune.

A humorous side story, according to Cohen, is how Trump used these inflated valuations of his net worth to be listed on the Forbes listing of wealthy men as part of his need to appear extremely rich. It was all part of the persona for the Trump brand. So much so that Trump would threaten to sue people who questioned his wealth according to news sources.

Lets review some facts about honest politics LBJ - the gulf of Tonkin incident was a lie and 60k American Soldiers lost thier lives while Mr Johnson and family became very wealthy. Carter - just plain incompetent. WJ Clinton - Lewinski, and.at least 4 other metoo'ers with very serious criminal charges. Convicted of lying to grand jury and was disbarred. BH Obama - I watched live as 4 dead Americans were returned to Andrews AFB, as Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton and obama all lied to our faces stating their deaths reulted from a fake video release. Innocent protesters just happend to have rocket propelled grenades. (Hope they got background checks). It's amazing how people can completely ignore facts that don't fit their preconceptions.

With that kind of thing happening so frequently, how in the world will we ever Make America Sane Again ?

Cohen has now "rolled" and has animosity towards Trump...so he is highly motivated to tell.

Yet he still can't provide any links to "Russian Collusion" and can't cite anything Trump did that was illegal?

Sounds like exoneration of Trump, another nothingburger, and another Democrat face-plant.

Who said Cohen is a saint? And why not stay for ten years if you're being well paid and probably being promised all kinds of promises. Ego, greed, and thirst for power are great motivators that have destroyed many people.

trump and Cohen are just two more examples of that.

Sorry to burst your bubble there, eU. But if you're an American citizen, then Donald J Trump IS your President. Period. End of story. Your saying it doesn't make it true. The only way you can make it true is to move to another country and denounce your US citizenship. However, as a self-proclaimed embarrassed Utahn, you seem to have a hard time even leaving SLC.

At Spokane Ute. America is a free country, which means that a “true citizen” is defined as any person who has obtained US citizenship.

In a free country like America, a person’s political opinions does not effect their citizenship.

I’m proud to be an American where I’m allowed to have contrary opinions than those of the established political powers.

In a free country a person is not only allowed to have disdain for their President, but to express it also. I pray that your litmus test for citizenship never becomes reality. That would be the day America dies.

"Funny how Trump labels Cohen as a liar and talking "to stay out of prison" (not happening.) Except when Cohen said something that Trump liked, then, he's not lying and should be believed."

    I'm confused.

So, you're saying that Cohen lied when he said there was no Russian collusion? So then, I guess maybe he's lying about everything else, too, huh?

Or was he telling the truth about the other stuff and only lying about the collusion? Which is it?

Or maybe he's only lying about the stuff you want him to be lying about and telling the truth about the stuff you want to be true?

Personally, I don't know what to believe from this guy. After all, he is going to jail next month to serve a sentence for lying to Congress under oath at other hearings. So, why would anyone believe him during this hearing?

Of course, you're only gonna believe what you want to believe. The stuff that fits your anti-Trump narrative.

I too will fight the dictatorship mentality that Republicans push and I will do so because we are all Americans/countrymen not pawns to a single dictatorship.

You know, a day after GOP politicians spent hours castigating Cohen for the egregious sin of lying to Congress, it's fascinating seeing some of the same ones today applauding Oliver North at CPAC.

Spare us the outrage. Cohen's going to jail in part for perjury, and acknowledged as much every single time someone called him out as a liar as a way to avoid the substantive issue: that Cohen lied in the service of the man occupying the Oval Office.

Those who waste their time condemning Cohen as a liar seem to overlook two key points.

First, as an enabler for Trump, Cohen lied because he frequently had a motive to lie, but as a witness before Congress, Cohen has a motive to tell the truth, because lying will lengthen his prison term.

Second, the most valuable and believable testimony in many criminal cases is provided by "liars" who have turned against the crook who is on trial.

Cohen accused Trump of at least 6 felonies: bank fraud, tax fraud, insurance fraud, abetting perjury, campaign finance violations and colluding with Russia.

He provided tangible evidence for 5 of those felonies.

After 7 hours of testimony, not a single Republican defended Trump. Not a single member of congress disputed any of the evidence Cohen brought.

I am an American loyalist, not a Trump loyalist, which is why I would fight Obama's policies with every fiber of my being. I am not a Socialist. Socialism will destroy America, is destroying America, more than any 'lie' Trump has said. Trump's policies have struck a blow against Socialism, which is why I support him. I support his policies more than I support 'him'. If his moral character was as important as Democrats want to make it out to be, then why didn't they throw Kennedy (whose policies were very good for America), LBJ, Clinton, or Obama under the bus and level the same scrutiny toward them as they have toward Trump. Why? Because they are filled with a very patronizing, self-righteous indignation that is hypocritical at best and unimportant at worst! Whether Trump finally gets thrown under the bus or not, the battle for the Constitution, natural rights, and freedom will go on with many patriotic Americans. George Washington had to contend with half the Americans that wanted nothing to do with a new nation. It is the same today.

My favorite part of the hearing was seeing the GOP representative from West Virginia complain about the hearing being a waste of time and taxpayer money. I wonder, why didn't she complain about the 13 Benghazi investigations that turned up, um, nothing. That was pure political posturing. This was part of a serious investigation into the behavior of a demonstrably corrupt president. My, how far the GOP has fallen. To defend Trump is a steep road to irrelevance.
