Counter-argument: We should compress the primary schedule such that the first presidential primary is no sooner then May, and severely punish anyone who announces in a different calendar year from the one that has the election.

We don't need half a presidential term to run the campaign for the next presidential term. Doing so is damaging. And while I think it might be a bit much to go to the three-month schedule from announcement to general election some other countries have, we definitely can compress things more then the current status quo without suffering.

So no. Biden shouldn't announce already. And no one else should have either.

I hope he announced it soon that he is going to enjoy his retirement. Like Sanders, his age is against him and I think it is time for the younger generation to step up to the plate and swing the bat.

S.E. Cupp shows she is a media, inside-the-beltway insider. The media should not try to drive the process, as they did in 2016. They should merely report. Biden has plenty of time to decide if he is in or out, and it's not the role of the media to push him for their own purposes. This aspect of the media just drives me crazy.
