Energy Solutions is a landfill, just shoveling dirt over the top of the waste
they receive, which does not seem like an approach that can possibly keep the
material contained for the thousands of years it will remain hazardous.
So what do you think? Will this legislation pass in the final hours of the
final day of the legislature.?I am so disappointed with our legislative
leadership catering to special interest groups!
We read, "But Senate Majority Whip Dan Hemmert, R-Orem, said low-level
radioactive waste is "all over the country. It's out there and we, to
my knowledge, our not dropping like flies."Well now just how
short is your sight? Perhaps we may not be dropping like flies but did you ever
stop to think what the net effect of the proliferation of Nuclear Waste might be
for your children, grand children, great, great and more great other (we hope)
There must be some big money changing hands somewhere on capital hill. How else
would a majority of our lawmakers even consider such a bill.
The people of Utah have suffered the effects of radiation for far to long. Put
it somewhere else.
This is beyond comprehension and all common sense. Energy Solutions, last year,
paid Utah lawmakers 67K to give them a 1.7 million dollar tax cut. We don't
need nasty, deadly radioactive waste. Remember the Downwinders? Utah, religious
GOP lawmakers over tax or try to ban anything that they deem "bad".
Alcohol, tobacco, porn, etc. Now, not only do they want to force Utahn's to
live with deadly waste, they reward the people profiting from our health
