    If we recognized that the foothills should be their habitat and not ours, we'd avoid this and a ton of other problems.

    Do there need to be a maximum number of cougars in the wilderness? Why not allow a lot more permits in order to enable hunters to assume the role that wolves once fulfilled, that naturally reduced cougar populations but no longer exist. If cougars are being spotted near children, it’s a sign that there are too many.

    It would be nice for grandma and grandpa to be able to take a walk in the neighborhood without having to engage in combat with a cougar trying to kill them. Any cougar within 5 miles of any city limit should be fair game.
