Exposure, while working for a huge Utah company all of my fellow workers started to get severe headaches.

I respectfully approached the company with our legitimate concerns about our exposure to chemicals. I asked for chemical suits, better quality rubber gloves, and fresh air supplied masks. Followed by time for showers after that particular operation.

    The company laughed at me.

I contacted the union and the situation was investigated and a three month study was performed.

During that time the company demoted me and gave me a janitorial job.

The study came back and found the employees had ten times the legal exposure limits.

Fearing huge lawsuits the company made changes.

Companies will not do a thing until they are endanger of being seued or jailed.

Rest assured. If corporate agriculture wants to use chemicals which benefit their bottom line, they will get them. It doesn't matter if they pose a health risk to workers or the community, the EPA under Donald Trump serves the interests of business.

Like everything else the Trump government rules on, if it's good for business, it's good for America. It's like going back to the days of Herbert Hoover and submerging the interests of the American people to the interests of American business. And while we're at it, remember one thing that drives Trump's decision-making: Whatever improves the profits for Trump is to be of primary interest. He has gone one step beyond Hoover in defining the goals of the American government.

So it is with the EPA. Where before it was supposed to be guardian of the environment, it now appears more concerned with repealing regulations that impede corporate interests. If uses of an agricultural chemical improves crop production by 0.1% and is linked to illness among workers, then it is only "logical" to let these corporate interests use it. It will improve their profits and that is the name of the game.
