    @Prometheus has put it so succinctly--I'm going to expound a little. It never ceases to amaze me the support given to Trump by those who claim to be Christian. The Christ I know dined w/ the publican, healed the broken-hearted & the physically impaired; fed the poor & weary; wasn't afraid to pick corn on the Jewish Sabbath to feed himself & his disciples; asked those who who wanted to kill the adulteress to "cast the first stone" only if they were sinless; forgave the sinners, w/o condoning the sin (after inviting them to repent & sin no more"); & invited "all who would come to the table" to partake of His gospel.

    He was not a bully or a liar, he didn't denigrate immigrants (quiete the opposite), he had compassion on those who were suffering, & he condemned anyone who harmed "little children", saying it "would be better that a millstone were hanged around their neck" than the consequence he would mete out to them.

    And yet many give unwavering loyalty to a man simply because he took over their party & gave them a few conservative judges--& all of a sudden, any policy of his is now dear to their hearts.

    Proving that for the vast maj. of Repubs, the ends justify the means.

    Lets check the facts.

    Donald promised Mexico would pay for the wall, Not Americans, So Nancy is forcing Donald to keep his promise, where you apparently think it's OK to promise that someone else will pay, and then bill Americans for that lie.

    Sad that Trumps fans can even hold him to his biggest promises, and blame others for not accepting this deceit as normal, from the emperor.

    Honesty used to be important, but pleasing Donald is now more important, to some.

    The Tea Party and alt Right movements are deep state conspiracies to undermine the Constitution, eliminate the middle class, and enslave the poor, working class to the rich elites.

    Beware!

    1Covey - there more than 1 million illegal crossings of the southern border in 2005 and in 2015 there were just over 300,000. There is still much work to do but it’s improving each year. Politicians from both sides - members of Congress and Presidents have supported many efforts to make the southern border more secure. Only one politician has used the border as campaign issue and stated incorrect facts to put fear in the hearts of Americans.

    @1covey

    The question is why now? Why didn’t trump shut down the government over the wall while he had majorities?

    The answer is politics.

    I'm deeply concerned that the Democrats are so unconcerned about the numerous human tragedies that are occurring, because of ineffective border security that appropriate barriers/walls could remedy; not to mention high costs to America's well-being. And to use government employees as bargaining chips as well.

    I'm deeply concerned about Pelosi’s technique of using thousands of federal workers as bargaining chips in her attempts to get her total way, instead of compromising with The Persident concerning the U.S.-Mexico border wall issue.

    I don’t see either side compromising.

    "To me his strategy appears to be outright bullying."

    Appears? What does Melania have to say about this?
