Agree that people should respect our law enforcement.

Suggesting our border response should be on par with Israel's is frightening. Israel is in a state of low intensity conflict (i.e. limited warfare) with its neighbors. I hope that isn't the goal.

They sure waited a long time into this article to mention that the man shot tried to run over the border guard.

That sounds quite a bit more reasonable than just shooting someone that refused to stop.

Maybe it is time for Nogales to fund their own wall and build an effective one that is aesthetically pleasing.

    Don't blame the U.S. gov't."
Yes, blame the US government. The trump administration. They put it up. They paid for it. They created the 'emergency' that makes it palatable.
The locals know. They know that the 'emergency' doesn't exist.

Don't blame the U.S. gov't. Blame the people that refuse to respect our borders and laws. There is no law that says we have to open our border to everyone. Just because millions of people want to come doesn't mean they have a right to enter. They should be angry at the people who refuse to show any respect for law and order. We aren't a lawless 3rd world country and don't want to become one.

Shooting the person? If they failed to stop at command and crossed the border anyway that is a chance they take. The same thing probably would have happened to them in Israel and many other countries trying to protect borders and monitor them.

Millions of people on both sides of our borders have became so disrespectful of our laws and borders. There are plenty of people on the inside of our country encouraging the lack of respect for our laws and borders. They are as worrisome as anyone trying to come in.
