    9 leftists sources and 1 rightist source, and yet the speech got more than one complement, and struck some fear that it was just too good.

    It must have been a great speech!

    For all those who labeled the child from Covington as having given a snarky look, compare that to Pelosi's look while she gave the mock applause to the President, and maybe you will figure out what snarky actually looks like.

    "The fact checkers were out and finding flaws in his speech. And there were many! "

    Yes- such as one fact checker complaining that Trump said that one in three women were sexually assaulted attempting to cross the border - demanding that it was actually only 31%;
    while another fact checker complained that Trump was wrong because the statistic was much higher (around 60%-80%)

    Which merely illustrates that the fact checkers cant keep their facts straight (and tend to be consumed with derangement syndrome)

    President Trump State of the Union speech was full of patriotism something that Liberals need to be reminded of, that the Majority of Americans love and are proud of there country .

    If you don't watch why comment?

    He was brilliant working the crowd. He got the dems standing up and dancing for him, it was a smart move as he calls for unity.

    Trump is hypocritical, he didn't call for unity until he needed it, but now that he's got the need he made a compelling request - and his opponents run on being his opponents and can't look good after this.

    The media should have taken the approach the majority of Americans did. Not watch! The SOU has become nothing more than a campaign rally.

    From time to time, President Trump has held out his hand to the Democrats, Don't the Democrats want those agenda items mentioned by the President, namely low unemployment. higher wages. disengaging from wars that are going nowhere ( point of diminishing returns - known to businessmen. but not to politicians ), lawful immigration ? They previously have been for these goals. Not now. All they do is form some sort of outraged chorus along with those media types whose opinions oozed negative bias. President Trump is willing to work with the Democrats for those goals that help all Americans, not just factions. Are the Democrats and their allies so convinced that Trump 'stole' the election ? Even considering a pro-Clinton media bias; even considering all those unsmart moves on Clinton's part, calling millions of Americans 'deplorables'; poor campaigning in important states; playing loose with classified information and the DNC paid-for Steele Dossier ? @ Utefan60- Fact checkers have been known ( SOTU 2019 ) to give misleading information; 8000 is too neat a number, for one.

    Some are suggesting that Pelosi was applauding Trump for creating more jobs for women. I think the opposite, I think she was applauding the women who, through civil protest and action gained a more fair standing.

    Of course Trump would love to think everything good is because of him and so, being the narcissist he is, he figured everyone was applauding him.

    Good leaders take a bullet and deflect the praise. Trump is first to take the praise and last to take responsibility.

    President Trump's SOTU was not only a home run--it was a grand slam! It was a game winning hit. Jerry Falwell Jr. proclaimed it, “Best State of the Union speech in my lifetime delivered by the best POTUS since George Washington and it’s not even over yet! God bless DonaldTrump!” I completely agree.

    The fact checkers were out and finding flaws in his speech. And there were many! Is was said by many commentators that if Trump had been truthful in many of his comments it would have been good for him. This meaning he lied several times when the truth would have been better.

    Why does his speech writer not proofread and verify facts?

    One was that he claimed to have created more jobs than any President in history. Easily provable as false. President Obama had much higher growth in 2014. Not a hard fact to check, yet he lied in front of Congress and the American public.

    It's hard to know what to believe with a man that has lied over 8,000 verifiable times since he took office. It's impossible not to cry wolf.

    He didn't mention Social Security, Medicare, Infrastructure, or even Health Care. These are the things that are most important to the citizens in this country. His "wall" and immigration rhetoric ruled the night.

    Women in white was an amazing statement against Trump and the recent Supreme Court Justice. Those women stood out!

    @The Melorist

    When did Trump ever say "(telling them to sit down and not applaud like they did)."

    Never said it, so I am not sure what you are saying. This is why we are all tired of hearing "Fake News", because of comments like this.

    I thought it was excellent. The Democratic rebuttal was a failure though. Complaining about kids in cages and the shut down (both also done by Obama) failed.

    Not sure why my last post was denied which simply reflected on Trump's condescending tone in addressing the women in the DNC side (telling them to sit down and not applaud like they did).

    I found Trump very stiff, boring, and that he kept sticking his chin up in the air like he was looking down his nose at everyone.

    Creepy.

    What stands out to me is not the partisan politics of the two parties in Washington (as bad as that is!), but what really bothers me is the vile, vicious and obviously biased and divisive comments from the national media. I love freedom of the press, but when they are so irresponsible in pushing more hatred and division, then maybe we are focusing too much attention on Trump and Pelosi, ant not enough attention on demanding that the national news media stop their venomous diatribe. Journalism is supposed to simply present the facts and let the public make up our own minds. It should not be in the business of telling us how to think, or to "think" in the biased way they do.

    Did you notice that rather large brooch on Speaker Pelosi’s lapel? If you’re wondering what that is, you’re not alone. It is a representation of the Mace of the Republic, or the Mace of the US House of Representatives. The mace is modeled on an ancient weapon of the same name (think of an iron club). House rules indicate that the speaker may direct the Sergeant at Arms to lift the mace and present it before an offender, to restore order to the House.

    While history has no record that it has ever been used to actually club down the disorderly, it has been removed from its pedestal a dozen or more times and held in front of offending lawmakers by the House sergeant-at-arms. So great is the respect for it as a symbol of law and order that order was restored each time.

    It’s the people’s house, and the people have entrusted it to Speaker Pelosi for this term. Along with it comes the power to maintain order in the House.

    Wearing it was quite a statement wasn’t it?

    What more do Conservatives want? Nancy Pelosi gave him a standing O. Granted, it was for creating more jobs for Democratic women in Congress, a fact that Trump seemed to have missed, but nonetheless.

    Everyone but Fox seemed honest in their assessment, fox is still trying to use the partisan investigations...by republicans?

    Not uniting, nothing new, more rhetoric, and he seemed confused when his comment about women in congress was met with sarcastic applause by women who ran because Trump was president, but not because they are fans, quite the opposite.

    You know it was a great speech if that is what these people have to say.
