Education beyond high school is important, but stressing college is a huge mistake. We have a huge problem filling blue collar jobs here in Utah, and some of those jobs can be far better that a college degree. For example, I have a son who has a good college degree, and makes pretty good money. But I also have a son-in-law that I persuaded to enter the trades. Today the son-in-law owns his own contracting business and is making money hand over fist. Both are doing well, but to suggest that the only road to success is a college degree is trash talking the trades, and that is a huge mistake.
