Well that sure is a pretty long list. Odd that I'D never seen any of them do it. But with all those posters making all those comments, it shouldn't take you very long to post the title of the article where they'd done so, so we can all look it up and see for ourselves.

Otherwise, I'm calling you out on that one. You just made that up. How frantic and emotional of you.

Kalani Sitake quoted........"Talent over experience." What "talent" are you boasting of Kalani Sitake? BYU's recruiting classes, retention rates are near the bottom of the FBS and have been for many years. Hey Kalani, who have you beaten, sir? The BYU current 2019 recruiting class is ranked at #84 as of today......and ya have no prospects on the line, other than no star D3 scrubs pards!

Good for BYU! Their recruiting classes are just plain terrible in the last 8 years.

Everything is just fine & dandy in Provo.....Then they awake to 9 straight & counting in August.....Yikes!

    Go Utes!

p.s. Before anointing ZW [he literally beat nobody last year], anybody have WMU’s defensive rankings from last year?

You’ve been reading this blog long enough to know that the usual suspects frequently imply that BYU doesn’t recruit talented enough players or train them up sufficiently to be successful in the NFL.

Either you have very selective memory or you’re being totally disengenuous in your claim that Utah fans never do that.

Glad Taysom Hill had a good year. Some good days and he will be talk about a lot by a lot of fans - BYU, Saints and including u fans. I don't watch NFL all season except last Sunday games and the ref was bad (Saints/Rams) at that last hit should have been called interference and why not any review or do they don't do that? It would have been fun if to see the Saints in the Super Bowl with the Pats. I like to see Brady to retire after the Championship game.

Taysom Hill and the Saints got absolutely Robbed of a Super Bowl Berth by the NFL yesterday ..... any credibility that this league had left before yesterday has been officially lost !

Hey Ute fans, instead of attacking and making fun of BYU, their players and their athletic department, why don't you go and cheer for your own team?

Attendance at Ute basketball games is so far down this season. How come? Don't you Ute fans stick with your team through thick and thin?

Come on Ute fans, if you love your team so much and are so pleased they are not playing with the big boys in the PAC 12, go cheer them on, even if they're having a down year.

@Wallbanger and others: Ute fans have a number of times in the past disparaged against BYU and have made statements similar to those previously alluded to—that BYU players will rarely/never do well in the NFL, if they even make it there. It would be interesting, but very difficult, to find those comments on past articles. The usual suspects would be "RealUte, Uteology, BraveSirRobin, ekute, ChrisB and about 10 others."

I'm not a BYU alum but do follow their sports. It would be nice if we could all just celebrate the efforts of all players involved and discontinue the nasty comments made by many commenters on both/all sides.

    @Bleed Cougar Blue,

In recognition of your constant flailing desperation....... BYU football and basketball are no factor in NCAA D1 competition as of today. Sure, a very few BYU football players play in the NFL, good for them in fact. BYU produced one legit NBA player in 38 years = Danny Ainge. BYU has had only three sweet-16 teams since 1951. BYU football was an analog era 1980s WAC team that didn't beat anyone. The last legit NFL QB that BYU produced was Steve Young, not that good in my opinion, but played on arguably the best team in NFL history.....SF 49ers.

    Two overtime games.
It seems that in the KC-Pats game, it all came down to the coin toss. Both teams were moving the ball like I've never seen in that 4th quarter. To bad the NFL doesn't come up with a plan so that both teams have a crack with the ball in OT>

Not saying it’s never happened...but we’ll be waiting for those quotes, and from what actual article/s it was posted on. Again, I for one love seeing locals succeed in the NFL.

Van Noy is the type of player that the Patriots love. He is not overly physical and not overly talented but he is smart and knows his job. Congrats!

Not knocking Hill's ability but I didn't think he played that well yesterday. Had a fumble and was out of position on one play lining up as a receiver that caused the Saints to take a time out as the play clock was about to expire.

On the other hand, Van Noy was a difference maker on the Pats defense. Marcus Williams was also very solid for the Saints.

@BYUalum - there are very few real posters that say 'BYU kids can't play in the NFL'. A more accurate assessment is that comments state BYU doesn't produce a lot of NFL talent. BYU tends have a few excellent players like Van Noy, Hill, and the DE that I can never spell his name correctly. Kafusi might be the next.

Van Noy had a good game (cheap shot notwithstanding), but Daniel Sorenson had an even better game. Maybe some day Andy Reid will see the value of a good defense, but until then, he will never go to another Super Bowl.

Who ever said that? That sounded made up! I’d like to see some actual quotes posted to back up your claim. We do know however, that the cougs don’t send very many players TO the NFL. (10 isn’t overly impressive). But the guys that byu usually does get there, are good, and I pull for all of our local players.

It will be nice though, to not see anymore ‘Taysom gushing’ from our local byu homers for a while.

    Go Rams...anybody but the Patriots!

Van Noy was a beast, he looks stronger than he ever has. I predict him making several crucial plays in the Superbowl to get the Pat's another Super bowl ring. Sorenson and Taysom represented the "Y" very good as well.

  • cmsense Kaysville, UT
    Jan. 21, 2019 6:52 a.m.

Van Noy and Sorensen both had huge games.

Hopefully the Chiefs can strengthen their defense for next year. It is not good odds to be in a shootout against Tom Brady, though father time eventually will affect everyone.

I'm sad for the Saints and the crucial no call. Chances are if the obvious call was made, the would be in the Super bowl.

  • Sam the Lamanite , 00
    Jan. 21, 2019 6:23 a.m.

When cataloging Van Noy’s stats, why wasn’t his personal foul listed? It could have cost them the game, and/or taken the opposing QB out of the game.

    Sad.

  • BobbyPaluga Austin, TX
    Jan. 20, 2019 10:39 p.m.

Van Noy was a monster today, one of the chief reasons the commentators are out in left field with the constant dissing of the Pats defense. Danny Sorensen did a nice job of ball hawking and making TD saving stops, HOWEVER when your safety comes up with 14 tackles, there is nothing to celebrate since it means the offense has likely picked up 10-15 yards running or passing the ball. The Patriots could not be stopped on 3rd and 10 and that was the story. The Chiefs had 8 lives, the Pats had 9.
