Republicans don't care about actual people and the damage they are doing to our nation.

This is all on Mitch and the deal maker.

Remember when Lee did this last time said he was proud too, right before he blamed others.

Don't expect Donald to do anything, Coulter, one of his bosses on fox recently said he was "dead, dead, dead, if you don't build the border wall" so he's been warned from the radio leaders of the GOP/Cons.

Not sure why Utah keeps voting against their own interests.

Just got back from hiking in Zion Park. No fees being collected. Strange because they are using fees to keep the park open. All parking lots were full. Barely got a space as someone pulled out at the Grotto. Hiked Angels Landing though could not do the last half mile at the chains due to icy conditions even though it was a sunny day.

Are we crazy. This is the opportunity to take back our parks. What is wrong with people taking care of them. Go clean them up. Volunteer. Open them back up and it will be better. In time we can hire people to do it. We can be free of the federal “long arm”. This may be the last chance. Do we really value freedom? Take back our sovern status. Even so called conservatives are not pushing the idea of taking care of our own.
Go to work, live in our means. Get off welfare. Federal jobs rely on laziness.

Economies in small Utah towns and elsewhere are already on death watch. Tourism is often the entire economy. This is certainly true in the towns surrounding Bryce Canyon.

Tourists coming to these small towns come from all around the world and trips are usually planned many months and sometimes over a year in advance. They book non-refundable fares to lock in affordable airfare and book lodging, often with cancellation penalties.

Right now, the foreign and even US guests are not making bookings. It is too risky. Maybe they are just holding off until later. But, they are probably booking trips elsewhere which will kill this season and even hurt future seasons.

Vacation rental owners, hotels, restaurants, rental car agencies, gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, airlines, etc., not to mention ATV rentals and horse riding businesses will all be hurting.

And, they will not be getting back pay after a forced paid vacation like federal workers furloughed.

Congress: Fund the wall, get some DACA and streamlined immigration concessions and stop this shutdown.

Trump: If Congress does not act, declare an emergency, build the wall, and open the government.
