The man who should have been named the sole overseer of UTA, was that man who, just one year ago, made his last public comment about UTA, when he labeled the $20 million dollar, ten-year free-for-all- transit pass programs at BYU and UVU as being CRAZY!

Besides his family losing their father, and his many other contributions to city, state and country, we lost the only person who had proven his mettle to oversee and correct the mess at UTA.

We needed Brent Taylor, just as we originally needed another Taylor to help create a worthy transit program for northern Utah, when Democratic House member, Sam Taylor coauthored the first sales tax funding and operational requirements with Republican state Senator Dixie Leavitt. Like Brent, Sam spoke out on many occasions to expose problems at UTA.

Just like the badly flawed reorganization attempted by the legislature, this tiny Board will fail Utah in bringing back the transit we really need.
