I'm sure defense is going to be the priority from here and out. I sure
would like to see BYU win their games at the Marriott Center, which hasn't
been the case. Seems like some of these teams in the WCC with small venues come
out here and get motivated like it's their Super Bowl, while we go to their
gyms and play lackluster. That's got to stop! I have seen a lot of
Nevada's games this year. I know they have a ton of talent. Even with
that they play team defense like nobody else. Take a lesson from them.
BYU's bench is deep, so why not go all out with defensive effort.
A quick check of the non-conference scores shows that the lowly WWC is 9-3
against the “Conference of Champions.” Maybe the WWC should be
called the conference of champions.
“The gift of Holmoe's independence experiment continues to
fail...”Football hasn’t proven they can beat
good/finished ranked P5 opponents.....Wilson is no Savior & byu will never
be able to prove themselves against legitimate 9+ consecutive P5 game
schedule.....Which good team did Wilson beat? Which good P5 team will he beat
next year, as we know the first one is a guaranteed L, period? As you
imply, the trickle-effect of Indy is being stuck in the wcc for all other
sports.....Terrible predicament they’re in on both fronts, period.Go Utes!
It looks like BYU will need to figure out how to play defense, if they want to
be better then 6th place in the WCC.The gift of Holmoe's
independence experiment continues to fail...
The term "preseason" is used in the rundown for a couple of these
teams. There is no preseason in college basketball.
Well it looks as though the Y is right in there with Pepperdine, Portland and
Santa Clara. It's going to be a loooong season!
