    Cheap oil threatens the US economy as well. There has been significant oil infrastructure investment in this country based on oil prices well above the current $45/barrel.

    Let's hope it doesn't affect our capital markets/banks. Where in the world would the money come from for another bailout if it becomes necessary?

    Yeah, well, low oil prices help the US economy. More consumers have much more disposable income when they're not paying $3.60/gal for gas. Goods cost less to ship and energy cost go down. Remember when Bush and Cheney told us, that invading Iraq's costs would be paid for with Iraq's oil? Well, 2 Trillion dollars later, that looks to be as true as Mexico paying for a huge wall.
