At issue is Congress not doing their job in regards to border security as it relates to legal and illegal immigration.

Building the wall to protect our southern border and breaking the law is without a doubt a key issue when discussing open borders. I think it’s just as important as voter ID. The battle between Democrats and President Trump surely is a concern to the American values of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for its citizens. To undermined the legal immigration process goes against keeping, honoring or sustaining the law.

The government shutdown is due to this battle of how best to keep the law of border security and legal immigration as Congress continues to kick the can. Thank the founding Fathers for the Electoral College in what was a key component on electing President Trump.

A quick guide to dealing with another trump boondoggle/shutdown:

Trump endlessly promised Americans that Mexico would pay for his wall.

    Republicans believed him.

Trump and his believers should get the funding for his wall from the Mexicans.

Stop punishing Americans for trump's failed campaign slogan.

"When President Trump gets the wall funded and constructed..."

That should read "If" President Trump gets the wall funded and constructed...

He won't. When Democrats take control of the house, funding for his wall will not see the light of day on any House Appropriations bills and the Senate, even with its gains, does not have a majority to invoke cloture on any budget debates. His last best chance is to strike a deal now with the Senate for whatever funding they are willing to provide.

Just a heads up. Aid to Mexico in 2008 was $96m. Obama took office in 2009, funding to Mexico took a dramatic rise all the way up to a monster number.
Bush 2001 to 2008 Total - $783m, Obama almost did this amount in 2010 alone.
    Obama 2009 $509m
    Obama 2010 $718m
    Obama 2011 $427m
    Obama 2012 $215m
    Obama 2013 $419m
    Obama 2014 $332m
    Obama 2015 $582m
    Obama 2016 $88m
OBAMAS TOTAL - $3.290B *And this included Fast & Furious, but we won't go there about the weapons given, lives lost due to it, etc.
    Trump 2017 $290m
Trump 2018 $44m so far, and $29m waiting for disbursement. So $73m, as stated before.

Again, the numbers are to easy to find on US Foreign Aid government Websites. So it is probably not a good idea to just throw numbers out there. And it is really not a good idea to talk about Trumps numbers when your guy contributed more than half of what Trump is asking for now, while Trump still has over $2.5B to go before overtaking your guy.

Again, it is just to easy to find.

Foreign Aid to Mexico so far for the year 2018 is only $44m, the anticipated amount of Foreign Aid to go to Mexico for the rest of 2018 is $29.3m, that is $73.3M, that is $14.36 less than $87.66M. This information is to easy to find.

The total estimated cost of the wall is $21.6B according to Homeland Security, which has been adjusted from the original $70B. Trump is asking for roughly a quarter of these funds in this spending bill. To say they should hold out and not give Trump the money for Border Security, to help keep illegals out, to help keep drug traffickers out, to help with against child trafficking, and the list goes on and on. Well to ask them to hold out, is ridiculous. The left needs to understand that this is not all about illegals trying to cross the border, it is about so much more. For those not wanting more security for our country, I guess lefty liberals are OK with child trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal border crossing, etc.

We need the wall, it should have been done a long time ago. And I am not defending Trump's explanation to pay for it. But they will pay for it in lost trafficking money of drugs, weapons and children.

In 2018, the U.S. government will give Mexico $87,660,000 in foreign aid! More than enough to build the wall. 56% of these funds will go toward peace and security. Second largest amount towards democracy, human rights & governance. Politicians in D.C. should not cave to Trump for billions more for his wall. He is also giving billions to Central America. So, we have helped their people as well.

Who Funds this aid to Mexico?
The majority of the planned 2018 aid will be implemented by USAID. The second largest contributor is Dept. of Defense, then Dept. of State. Depts. of Energy, Health & Human Services, Interior, Agriculture & the Peace Corps are also funding agencies that are part of this planned foreign assistance package.

How much do we have to give Mexico on top of the trade $ we give them? Who in Mexico is accounting for all this $ we are giving them? We have given Mexico far more than enough to build plenty of walls.

Tired of Trump's smoke and mirrors with the American taxpayers. Why are we tolerating this from him and his Administration? Some of the taxpayers that should be most upset about all of this are the federal workers that are working without a paycheck.
