    @SAS

    Justices have a life long term, however the Framers stipulated that "Judges of supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour".

    Any Judge giving opinion contrary to the Constitution, IMO is exhibiting bad behaviour and should be released, in accordance with this condition.

    Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

    If Ginsburg steps down, Trump will not replace her. Democrats won’t allow it. But not to worry. The Court will continue to function with 3 reliable conservatives, 3 reliable liberals, and the 2 new swing voters, Roberts and Kavanaugh.

    @drich:

    Too bad the framers set up supreme court justices for lifelong terms. How's that original intent jurisprudence working out for you?

    God bless Ruth Bader Ginsburg. May she serve as a justice of SCOTUS for many more years. We need her.

    The great Helmsman -- They do have their bias when it don't fit their narrative or they use the phrase -- not on topic as an excuse. Especially any thing favoring Trump.

    The editors of DN must have a list of descriptions that cannot be used to describe the man in the WH. This is their forum and they have the right to deny whoever they want.

    They’ve been exercising their right a great deal this morning as it relates to me.

    I wish Justice Gingsburg a speedy and full recovery. It seems that falling and breaking her ribs was a blessing in disguise as these asymptomatic tumors were discovered during the treatment of those ribs and might otherwise have gone undetected until they had grown and spread.

    I also wish she'd choose to to spend her Golden years with family and friends rather than legislating from the bench so that she might replaced with a judge who believes the constitution should be applied as written rather than merely using constitutional language to cloak personal social views that are too often anathema to our principles of limited government of strictly delegated powers carefully divided among 3 branches, leaving all other powers to the States and the people themselves.

    She needs to be replaced.
