Brave Sir Robin, we've captured transmissions of this video history that have been run through a Universal translator, thus we received them in English. Though it appears that only some species speech could be properly translated, Wookies are an example of one that could not be translated.

Yes it's fiction, but between Lucas's weak hint at an immaculate conception and then Disney dumping all the prior Cannon so all we have are the movies and The Clone Wars series as cannon it's fun to talk about this stuff. And a Sith Lord manipulating the force is a far more palatable story than the midichlorians just decided to cause his immaculate conception.

Though not uderstanding how he got a Y chromosome to form. I can see how he could make a female child, take two ovum and combine them, giving one with the needed 26 chromosomes (two Xs) and it grows from there.

The old movies, the original 3 StarWars movies are the best. Some of the more recent ones are okay. But getting into this really dumb stuff about creating Anakin from dark forces--swirling gasses is stupid. Darth Vader is a person and was conceived by people. Jesus Christ was a person and was conceived by people, one parent was mortal and one parent was immortal, but they were people. Also Darth Vader overcomes the dark side or evil tendencies, hence he has his own agency and is not inherently evil. As with the majority of newer movies, it is all about sensationalism, not well-scripted movie content. The older movies were usually so much better than what is produced today.

One of the reasons to like Harry Potter -- the books precede the movies, which leave things out from the books, and the books are the canon. As noted, Lucas is evasive about this, the movie has some ill conceived (unnecessary, messianic?) throw-away line about "no father,"... we have decades of open canon, cartoons, comics... we get JJ Abrams, Rian Johnson and Disney running amok... The Star Wars Universe is a mess! We're left to limit "canon" to (only) the movies.

Hey guys, guess what? It's a fictional story!

If you want to challenge plot holes in this fictional story, ask yourself why a civilization that lived "a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" somehow speaks English.

I don't buy it. This is another contradiction in the Star Wars universe.

According to other books, Darth Palagis (Sidious' Master) was the sith that was able to "create life." Palagis was going to replace Sidious with his new creation, but Sidious killed Palagis in his sleep.

Sidious was never trained in the technique, and tempted Anakin to join him to save Padme's life, and join him...

Otherwise, Sidious would have recreated another Anakin, and killed Vader. This comic-book version makes no sense.

    And the rest is history...

DN really needs a 'star wars' tab.
