    "The Aggies domination over the mean green plus Boise's win over Arizona State also proves yet another thing...yes, the MWC is a good football conference.
    ...
    Assuming Fresno also wins their bowl game against Boston College, then the MWC will end the season with at least 3 teams (maybe more) in the top 25. "

    You have your bowl games mixed up. Fresno State beat AZ State and Boise State plays Boston College.

    Isn't it ironic that it is people like IamDocRob that are destroying Cougar football?

    Independence has destroyed the Cougars. And, the worst part is that they haven't even seen the worst yet.

    Look, the Utes and the Aggies don't hate you, Cougars. We actually WANT to see you succeed -- or at least not die out. Which is why we keep telling you the only path forward is through conference affiliation. Why? Because it is the TRUTH.

    You, on the other hand, insist that comments like "go back to the MWC" are negative or a sign of defeat -- they are neither. These comments are the truth trying to tell you the only obvious way to fix your program.

    Maybe if more Cougars actually cared about their program they would force their AD offices to get rid of the independence that is killing their program.

    Meanwhile, there is seemingly no end in sight to Aggie Nation domination of the MWC.

    Great season, Aggies. By all accounts, it looks like you are up for repeat next year as well.

    The Aggies domination over the mean green plus Boise's win over Arizona State also proves yet another thing...yes, the MWC is a good football conference.

    No matter how hard the talking heads want to spin it, the truth is that the MWC is pretty similar in competition with P5 conferences. It like I have always said, there is the P5, the MWC, and then the rest. Assuming Fresno also wins their bowl game against Boston College, then the MWC will end the season with at least 3 teams (maybe more) in the top 25. All things considered, that is not bad.

    People who claim that USU didn't deserve a better bowl because they didn't play anyone are both correct and incorrect.

    USU putting up gaudy numbers and a great record against bad teams is the exact formula that has been used forever by mid major football programs. BYU used the formula to get high rankings and a NC in the 80's. Utah used it to go to 2 NY bowl games. Boise used it to garner national attention, and UCF has used it to knock on the door of a playoff birth.

    Now USU is using the same formula. If they can string together a couple of more 10 win seasons, USU will get to a NY6 bowl game.

    USU's rise as we have struggled is disturbing beyond words. I am so ready for so-called independence to end. BTW, I would rather play in Albuquerque on Dec 15 than play in Boise on Dec 21. Next year's MWC champion has a good shot at landing the G-5 New Years bowl spot; we don't have a realistic chance of anything similar (nothing even as good as the Las Vegas Bowl or the now defunct Poinsettia Bowl anymore).

    If us means BYU you are in at MWC bowl you are there because Boise St went to the better bowl.

    Barely bowl eligible and headed to Boise to play Western Michigan. Indy is working out great. Enjoy the potato bowl.

    Utes were lucky they didn't have to play the Aggies. Utah State easily had the best team in the state this season. The fact that they had to play in a much worse bowl game than the Utes is yet another piece of evidence that the deck is stacked heavily against teams that are outside the P5 conferences.

    Utah State has a good football program. Be nice in the future to be selected to play in a better bowl game

    @imdocrob1:

    Um, did you also catch the part where USU finished third in the MWC? What bowl should the third-place team in the MWC get to go to?

    “my opinion USU got hosed.”

    Nah, usu beat absolutely nobody this year, as evidenced by their #114 ranked SOS, & failed to win their midmajor division.....Most importantly, they failed to finish the year CFP ranked.

    They landed precisely in the bowl game they earned against a fellow no-name midmajor.

    2nd best team in the state, barely edging out WSU.

    Go Utes!

    @imdocrob1
    What are you talking about? All but four teams get hosed every year. Why do we put of with the P5 playoff?
    The playoffs system is a joke! I wonder how UCF feels when they go undefeated two years in a row and still they do not make the playoffs. Great season Aggies! Can't wait for next year.

    For all of you screaming for us to get back into the MWC all I have to look at is the fact that Utah St has one of the best seasons they have had in a long time...one loss in the conf and two overall and this was the best bowl game they could get in to!! I say we play four P5 a year as Indy rather the go back to that joke of a league and still end up in a nothing bowl...my opinion USU got hosed.
