@london_josh - Lincoln, CADec. 16, 2018 2:15 p.m.That is a
seriously funny comment. I like it."we are not a "next man
up" team but "who's left?" something should change!"Yeah, BYU had some challenges at RB this yr. But your most productive
RBs on the season were Hadley and Katoa, whatever string they were. Both had
more yards per carry than Squally or any other RB. And depth
wasn't why BYU lost to Utah. When Utah finally woke up, it was game over.
BYU had the #108 total offense in the nation. And had like 100
total yards in the 2nd half v. Utah. And BYU simply couldn't
stop Utah from scoring in the 4th quarter. Utah basically played
hard for 16 minutes of game time. Scoring 28 straight and 35 total, from the
middle of the 3rd quarter to the end of the game. If the game was
longer (a BYU saying from the Vegas Bowl) Utah would have simply won by more.
They were going to score every time they possessed the ball, once they focused.
I predict a win for BYU... but put on those thermals... it will be cold.
Perhaps they should call this the ice bowl.
Wer has it right, 2nd season in a row with injuries that don't make sense
as they are disproportionate.Utah won based on lack of depth, our
injured RB was the 5th or 6th string RB and our defense didn't reload with
kafusi injuries. That's our issue, we are not a "next man
up" team but "who's left?" something should change!
Dear CougarForever,It is very possible Cougs could lose this game.
Their bowl record is pretty poor. Bring a Wyomingite, Cougs were one pass away
(in the last minute of the game) from Josh Allen from being beaten by Wyoming
two years ago. (Thank you Kai Nacua!)Running game looks weak;
defense banged up. Hope Cougs play better than I think they might.Go
CougarForever which team were you watching this season? Nothing comes easy for
this team and if you think a bowl win will I’m afraid you are in for a
surprise. W Michigan will likely be much more pumped for this game than the
Cougs will be. I hope I’m wrong but this will not be an easy win.I
do like our TEs. Next year should be the year of the TE with health and
experience. Competition at that position will be fierce this spring and summer.
We are finally loaded at that spot. Clark has done a great job.
Western Michigan is in the MAC, and didn't come close to winning the MAC.
They also have an injured starting QB who will not play in the bowl game. This should be a route, even if BYU didn't play their TEs at all.
This should literally not be a close game. And beating Western
Michigan, will bring BYU to 1-1 v. MAC programs this yr. So, congrats!!
There are times when one just has to accept the fact that a certain number of
injuries are part of the game. Then, one also realizes a pattern of too many
injuries that could have been prevented by better physical preparation or some
other factor beyond just the luck of the game.
Our TEs are a strength even with the injuries. BTW, does anyone
really think that the game with Western Michigan will be competitive? It is
likely that we will do to Western Michigan what USU did to North Texas today.
