The NFL has great opportunity to help with a societal problems. Unfortunately,
the NFL, including players, management, and owners, only value their pocketbook
and the win column--everything else is subsidiary to that! Maybe they could
create an ad series in another faux attempt to convince the paying public that
the NFL cares......
If the NFL can't teach their players how to treat other people then it
needs to be shut down!
"NFL just needs to go away""High Schools drop football""blood sport bred on violence""feeds the bad in already bad
kids"What an overreaction! Talk about throwing the baby out with
the bathwater!Countless kids across this country, and many other
countries, benefit tremendously from their involvement in the sport of football.
It is a wonderful sport, a great game, and it saved my life!If not
for football, I would not have survived the peer pressures of high school; I
would not have been able to attend college; I would not have learned to have the
respect for discipline, the health of the human body, and the admiration for
athleticism, healthy competition, (good) sportsmanship, and the pursuit of
excellence. It is a fact that the rate of domestic violence among NFL
players is 45 percent below the national average!Studies show that
police officer is the profession with the highest rate of domestic violence. A
minimum of 40 percent of families of officers have experienced some type of
domestic violence! That's well above the 10 percent of the population as a
whole.Shall High Schools stop allowing kids to have any dealings
with Police Officers?
The NFL or football or inner city kids with no father suddenly coming into big
dollars...the fact is the NFL just needs to go away. I would love to see high
schools begin to drop football even faster. This blood sport bred on violence
just feeds the bad in already bad kids.
