I think that Mia was wise in limiting Trump’s robocalls. Trump, of course, sees a cause and effect relationship between his robocall and her probable defeat. His public humiliation of Love regarding that apparent fact was about as low as any leader can get. Had I received a call with Trump’s support, I would have voted automatically for the other person.

It really doesn't matter what Trump, our president said about Mia Love but its true she was in way over her head since she has not assimilated to become and American citizens, she still prefers to be called an Haitian and not an American. She is an example of the kind of government being elected across the country where illegal birthright citizenship has been given to undocumented illegal aliens is polluting our government with foreign exchange legislators who never got an education on the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights so its all strange and awkward territory they have not learned abut the US and its form of government.

Everyone in Utah who voted for her knew she was not qualified to represent our government or people but with many of the choices in the previous and this elections she was deemed less of a threat to our nation than McAdams or choices of radicals who hate trump and want to destroy this country and its borders, culture, and way of life. People who voted for McAdams will soon find out this man is a fraud and devout communist who wants to deny us our freedoms and rights to defend our lives and this coutry's borders.

    And it's to her credit.

She was right to avoid being seen as a trump sycophant.

Anything else I say will be rejected for no good reason.

Mia lost in her own red state?

Imagine how bad you have to be.

Utah is "conservative" but not necessarily "Republican".

    Oh come on. Remember this?
“In February 1974 Apostle Ezra Taft Benson was asked during an interview if a good Mormon could also be a liberal Democrat. Benson pessimistically replied: ‘I think it would be very hard if he was living the gospel and understood it.'”
Utahn's, particularly those of the predominant faith sure do.
Utah is VERY Republican. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

Mia Love lost this race two sessions ago. It was a matter of time that the citizens of the Fourth District would smell the connection between her huge campaign war chest and her actual balance reported to the FEC.

Mia Love voted with Donald Trump 95 % of the time. What does one single robocall mean to this discussion ? Nothing. Mia Love voted to restrict medicare and pre-existing coverage. What does one single robocall mean to this discussion? Nothing! This is an issue between Mia Love and Donald Trump. It has nothing to do with the citizens of Utah.

Utah is "conservative" but not necessarily "Republican". Democrats would never vote for Mia, simply because Democrats are very partisan. Mia managed to alienate conservatives with her stance on a few issues, and criticism of Trump.
It was just a series of bad political choices. She lost.

I can not believe that President Trump would make such crude comments about Mia, “Mia Love gave me no Love,” she voted with him ninety five percent of the time. I have to feel bad for Mia that our president treats people the way he does, even the the ones that try to help him.

I did not vote for Ben because he is too conservative, but I'm glad Mia is out of congress. She was far too Trumpian and I believe she lost her way in the madness of DC and became part of the swamp had Trump promised to drain..

She is getting what she deserves! Glad she was sent packing! Hopefully McAdams can represent Utah and not his own interests...Unlike Ms. Love.

Mia ran as a conservative but decided later to become a RINO. Mia was always on some show bashing the president. She tried to play to the left in her district and she lost. Lesson learned. Run as a conservative be a conservative.

As I recall Mia got voted in on some of the Tea Party synergy and then as soon as she got to the House she voted to keep Speaker Boehner. Not a good start in my opinion.

She's been unimpressive as the some the recent new blood of the Republican Party.

And today we get 'the rest of the story' with the Robocall. If she loses, she did this on her own and the president seems to be justified in calling her out. We all know how this president rolls in his leadership...

    Like it or lump it...

He's your president, you're stuck with him for 2 more years and probably another 4 beyond that!

I liked that Mia on occasion would vocal disagree with comments Trump made. Unfortunately she didn't come across as her own person often enough. Utah isn't New York. Utahans and New Yorkers don't treat each other the same way.

I had really mixed feelings about this. I like the idea of Utah having a non homogenous representation. It was either having a non-white male from the Republicans, or a non-Republican.

For whatever reasons, Love has been a weak candidate since she first ran. The Democrats have the house the next two years, so it does not really impact anything that she lost. This seat will flip back to red in two years when there is a stronger Republican candidate.

    @The Great

Well, she "returned" the favor long ago.

Perhaps she will be wise enough to utilize the support of President Trump when she tries to recapture her seat in two years?

    Nov. 8, 2018 4:12 p.m.

Probably not the best endorsement you could get around here.

    Nov. 8, 2018 3:44 p.m.

I love how the economy and the nation is doing under the current administration, but I am not endeared to Love or Trump. They both seem self centered and not servants for America!

I see a lot of similarities between how Dear Leader treated Omarosa Manigault Newman and Mia Love.

Perhaps Mia will return the favor.

In Utah, Trump is a liability. I have lots of Republicans in my family and the support I hear for the president is lukewarm at best.

"Asked why the president was suddenly so critical of Love the day after the election, Hansen said, "You'll have to ask Trump. I have no idea."

Really? everybody else does. You don't have to be a political professional to know that Trump blames others for losses and takes credit for wins, even if he wasn't a factor in wins. He's a textbook example of a narcissist. It's OK-we all know.
