Dear Puukko,In 1847 it was a significant achievement to travel from Winter
Quarters, Nebraska to the Great Salt Lake Valley, took 110 days with many dying
along the way. We honor them as pioneers and roll models driven by personal
determination.Today we sit on our cushy tushes in air conditioned
comfort rain or shine, kids watching a couple of movies, stopping for pizza in
Cheyenne, and in your PJs in Omaha by bed time, this time being driven by Mom
and Dad.Just because scouting isn't what it used to be, what
you achieved in your youth is not diminished, especially to you. You are
commended for your dedication and are a better man for it.Now go out
there and help the next generation of boys become men.
@Ranch,You're entitled to your own values.
I don't think anyone will confuse Girl Scouts with Scouts BSA. I think the

Baden Powell must be turning in his grave. Who is the Boy Scouts anymore?
Political Correctness is there new theme and motto!
Lets copyright all words so that language has to disappear from the planet. If
you have to pay for every word you use, you'll stop using them.@worf;Being a celibate gay kid or a monogamous gay couple is as
"morally straight" as the same coming from heterosexuals. As for honesty, you could try it sometime.Religion is on the
decline just as is the BSA. When one more god is relegated to the status of
"myth" the next one is soon to fall into line as well.
Proud to be an Eagle Scout of the old traditional Boy Scouts program!Sad how morally clean and honesty has been redefined.
The BSA made their bed - now they have to lay in it. Bad decisions made in the
past are now leading to their decline. It's the law of the harvest. It
is sad to watch.
One of the few things keeping BSA alive and relevant is the sponsorship by major
religions. With that on the decline it's only natural that BSA would
