    This is great news! I was a missionary in Chile between 1968-70 when the entire country was only one mission. To see the incredible growth of the church in that country and all of Latin America in the last 50 years is truly amazing and a testimony to the prophetic words of the Prophet Joseph Smith on the day the church was reorganized in 1830, that the restored Church of Jesus Christ would fill both North and South America and the entire world.

    mightymite...not sure why you say odd,,,there are 4 million members in South America that will get a visit from the prophet and an apostle plus a temple dedication...

    Personally I think it is wonderful

    @Mightymite
    South America contains 1/4 of the Church's members, that seems like a pretty reasonable motivation for visiting the area, particularly with the new temple being dedicated as part of the visit.

    Interesting ... Motivations on this are kinda odd. Head scratcher on the future if the church in general these days.

    President Nelson is a remarkable man. But even better, he is the Lord's prophet and he is going to the people... Kudos also to Wendy Nelson and Elder and Sister Stevenson for helping in this ministry. The Lord is truly hastening His work.
