Thanks, Neif, that was a riveting story.
"Last Saturday was the autumnal equinox."I am starting to
think I bought a rogue calendar. I saw the Fall doodle on Google on Saturday.
My wife said that Facebook was telling her it was the first day of autumn on
Saturday; yet my calendar showed that Sunday was the Autumnal Equinox. If everyone else says it was Saturday; perhaps I can't trust my calendar
with the correct dates. It was correct on the date for Easter (a floating
holiday). And, even when I clicked the Google daily doodle; it said that any
given year Fall starts either on Sept. 22 OR 23; so I presumed my calendar was
correct, and Google jumped the gun this year. But, how is one to know which of
the two days then?Maybe my calendar maker, doesn't know the
correct answer to that question, either. Perhaps I shouldn't put much
faith in the special days marked on a cheap calendar bought at Dollar Tree.
