    So hand held for an absent minded and easily distracted tween to drop or put down and forget. Versus the Gizmo watch that they wear (and like wearing) that we can track and they can call either parent with. Cost was $89 for the Gizmo, and the monthly cost (to Verizon, the plan we attached it to) is about the same per device as this gadget.

    I'll stick with the Gizmo.

    Wait.. so if you want to receive notifications from your kid, you have to have the app up and the phone awake and unlocked? How convenient is that?!? Here son, head to school and I'll leave my phone unlocked with the app up all day in case you need me.
