I agree. I'm so proud of those people who saved so much through their
Vanceone - Provo, UTVanceone, I hope you realize that the,
"leftists" aren't your enemy... We are your family, friends,
co-workers, and country men. I just wish that on this day of all days you could
Today is not a day to be talking about "leftists" Ted Kennedy, Bill
Maher, Richard Gere, Michael Moore, Gore Vidal, or Norman Mailer. Some of those
men have been dead for years. It's amazing you want to dig them up and bury
them again. This is from Robert Felder, a media writer for the
Chicago Sun-Times:"Carol Marin was a 52-year-old correspondent
for CBS News working on a piece for “60 Minutes” in New York when
she saw the World Trade Center attack. Almost instinctively, she rushed to the
scene and found herself just blocks away when the first tower began falling. As
she turned to run, a firefighter scooped her up and shielded her from the deadly
cloud of smoke and debris rushing toward them."Miraculously,
Marin made her way back to the CBS Broadcast Center, her navy blue suit covered
in soot, and told her harrowing story to Dan Rather and the world. Marin
didn’t get back to her hotel that day until after midnight.“I’m troubled talking about it because I was the one who was
saved. I didn’t save anybody and I didn’t get the name of the
firefighter who saved me. But at the same time, if it happened all over again,
I’d do the same thing. It’s what we do. We report.”
Im a never Trump conservative, and every accusation against trump in this
article I believe is accurate. However... it is very poor taste for the article
to descend to such lows. This is a day of remembrance and mourning. The
president's speech was somber and respectful for once. Leave it at that.
Attack trump another day.
I agree with Vanceone . Rather than making the article about those who died and
the Trumps honoring them, it takes a TED, ATDS turn making it about Trump hate.
How about supporting the memory of the day and not spend time supporting the
ATDS reporter making it a hate speech.
Ah, Impartial: You are desperate to push your side's comments down the
memory hole. But anyone who cares to search will find the scores of despicable
comments by your side. People like Norman Mailer, Bill Maher, Gore Vidal. Ted
Rall. Jimmy Carter. And where was the pushback from the rest of the
leftists? Nowhere except in thunderous applause. The left
deliberately and vocally sided with the terrorists and anti-Americans after
9-11. This is established fact, and no attempts by today's leftists to
memory hole it should be tolerated. Meanwhile, we have heroes to
celebrate, despite the left flinging excrement at their memories at at America,
all in an attempt to elevate Islam and denigrate western culture.
Hey. D-New moderator. Hos does this comment, in any way, fit your guidelines? It's false, it's inflammatory and it's degrading. How does this
get posted?Vanceone - Provo, UTSept. 11, 2018 12:21 p.mthen let us also talk about how many leftists demanded that we honor and
pray for the terrorists, and praise their courage in slaughtering Americans.
Richard Gere. Micheal Moore. And many other despicable leftists who sided with
terror, not Americans. Including much of our media."
It's good to hear that he was able to keep his ego in check for a few
minutes, stick to the speech a writer produced for him, and actually be
civilized for while.
What Trump said in the aftermath of 9/11:“Donald, you have one
of the landmark buildings down in the Financial District, 40 Wall Street,"
said Alan Marcus, a WWOR analyst. "Did you have any damage, or did you -
what's happened down there?""Well, it was an amazing
phone call," Trump said. "I mean, 40 Wall Street actually was the
second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually before the
World Trade Center the tallest, and then when they built the World Trade Center
it became known as the second-tallest, and now it's the tallest."(BusinessInsider)
My first thought was hoping none of my neighbors or friends were trapped in
those towers as we had a couple of men in our neighborhood who frequently
commuted via Amtrak to NYC for work.A friend from church told me her
father was working near ground zero that day and for awhile couldn’t share
with his family what he witnessed that day. He wanted to forget what he saw.
Here's the issue: the media never, ever attacks Democrats for their
reprehensible pasts. How many articles about Ted Kennedy mentioned his treason
or his murdering Mary Jo Kopechne? None, or very seldom--even when it would have
been on topic. How many articles bring up Monica Lewinsky whenever Bill Clinton
is mentioned? But the media always, but always, tries to bring up
something negative about Trump. What on earth does celebrating Muslims have to
do with Trump honoring the heroes of Shanksville? Why does the media have to
inject partisan attacks on a story that should be all about honoring the heroes
who saved lives, whether it be the firefighters and other first responders, or
those who saved the Capitol from the evil Muslims determined to slaughter our
government of the time?Instead, the media turns our chance to
celebrate into a story meant to demean and attack the President. Fine--then let
us also talk about how many leftists demanded that we honor and pray for the
terrorists, and praise their courage in slaughtering Americans. Richard Gere.
Micheal Moore. And many other despicable leftists who sided with terror, not
Americans. Including much of our media.
Its always amazing to see trump supporters winge about the media reporting what
trump says and how at odds each thing is with reality. I still cant
wait for that future day when finding someone who admits to supporting him is a
near impossible task.
Not a good day to be attacking the media.I was a middle school mass
communications teacher during 9/11. In the aftermath of that tragedy, several of
my classes did a project related to the media and 9/11. My students sent emails
to local TV news anchors and reporters in about 230 media markets around the
country, from New York City to the smallest market, Glendive, Montana. My students all wrote, "We know 9/11 was a terrible day for our country
and it must have been a terrible day to be reporting all that horrible news. But
how did that day affect you personally?"That project had a very
high response rate. The replies took up wall space on an entire hallway of our
school. Many people said they were at home watching "Good Morning
America" when the news dropped and they immediately rushed to work. Lots of
people said they put in 18 hour shifts that day.Other people said
they immediately called loved ones and people they knew in NYC to make sure they
were OK.There were several people who said, "I went to church
and prayed."Like I said, not a good day to be criticizing the
Hey Vanceone, perhaps it's because Trump was and is lying:From
TPM:But in the immediate wake of the 9/11 attacks the president
didn’t respond so selflessly, taking money from a program meant to help
small businesses while lying about donating to help the attacks’
victims.Trump, then a local business mogul with a major building
just blocks from the World Trade Center, claimed he had made a $10,000 donation
to the Twin Towers Fund, a charity set up by New York City to benefit the
terrorists’ victims and their families. But that wasn’t
true, according to a review of documents conducted by New York City’s
comptroller at the request of the New York Daily News in 2016.Trump’s company also tapped into a program designed to help small
businesses in lower Manhattan stay afloat in the wake of the attacks, receiving
$150,000 in state grants.
@Vanceone - Provo, UTSept. 11, 2018 8:47 a.m.What a horrible
article. It is a series of attacks on Trump, even when he is honoring true
American heroes."When are Trump supporters going to realize that
reporting the truth about Trump's words and actions are not attacks? They
are reports of his deeds. Trump did, in fact, make statements that he saw
thousands of Muslims celebrating the collapse of the towers. Never happened, or
as Trump would say, "fake news". Trump then mocked the disabled reporter
that denied Trump's story. Remember that? Class move. If you don't
like reading or watching ugly things about Trump, perhaps you should write him
and suggest he starts acting like a President instead of a child. Oh, and ask
him to please stop lying.
What a horrible article. It is a series of attacks on Trump, even when he is
honoring true American heroes. But no, the media cannot even write
a feel good story without trying to attack President Trump for that. It's
one of the reasons why "journalist" is even below
"Congresscritter" in terms of respect. By the way, since the
article brought it up, let it be noted that "not reported by the media"
is not the same as "it didn't happen." No one, except far left
partisans hoping for Pravda, but no one believes the media as reporting the
truth and nothing but the truth. Most of us have learned that if the nightly
news says that the sky is blue, we had better check it ourselves. And lately,
the sky has been dirt and smoke colored, so the media would have been lying to
us even then.
Thinking of my friend Morgan Salman who traveled from Arizona to NYC to search
for survivors after 9/11 and died of glioblastoma a few years later at the age
of 38. That was no coincidence. There are many stories like his. RIP
