Perhaps Kelli Ward to should join Donald Trump at another adoration rally where they can express their disdain for John McCain before an audience more sympathetic to their mutual insensitivity at the passing of a national hero.

It must be awfully galling for Trump to request lowering the American flag to half-staff again because of the bad optics and the critical television his previous refusal created. The late release of statement created by staff was a step in the right direction. One can't imagine Trump authoring it, and his later press coverage appears to display his petty animosity to great effect.

But Trump and Ward can seek commiseration between themselves today. The majority of the American people stand in opposition to this selfish whining and egocentric shamelessness in respect to the memory of Senator McCain. Where tradition and protocol call for rising to a greater level than oneself, Trump and Ward are incapable of such magnanimity.

So, it is best that they withdraw and voice their sour grapes to those, like themselves, enmeshed in the tribal partisanship that McCain was most concerned about and the acidic corrosion Trumpism is doing to the fabric of America.

Not very surprising she tried to blame the media. When the GOP playbook is running on empty, the media is always a convenient scapegoat. It's like trying not to scratch an itch.

Seizing a man's dying hours and trying to turn that into a "political opportunity", that's a discussion for another day.

"As the Dems have Maxine Waters and Ocasio-Cortez as their spokeswomen."

Is this what they're saying on Fox News? If so, you need to get familiar with the Democratic leadership. Obviously, you're not that casual as an observer if you make such partisan statements to get a rise out of people.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hasn't even been elected, and you say she is a "spokeswoman". Maybe to the people on 'Fox & Friends', but not to anyone outside of the Fox propaganda world.

As for Maxine Waters, she hardly in leadership. She is a House member from California. That's not very high in the hierarchy. Now if you were talking about Diane Feinstein or Nancy Pelosi, I could agree that they are leaders.

But this thread is about the Arizona U.S Senate candidate, Kelli Ward, complaining that McCain family's announcement that Senator McCain was ending cancer treatment had been timed to hurt her campaign. You don't address this overt insensitivity to the family's grief. Instead you turn it into an attack on Democrats and those people you obviously don't like.

According to the Los Angeles Times:

"The flags at the White House, which were lowered over the weekend to mark the death of Sen. John McCain, are back at full-staff."

"The flags at the White House, which were lowered over the weekend to mark the death of Sen. John McCain, are back at full-staff."

"President Trump nixed issuing a statement that praised the heroism and life of Sen. John McCain, telling senior aides he preferred to issue a tweet before posting one Saturday night that did not include any kind words for the late Arizona Republican.."

Such is the petty shallowness and insensitivity of the man who brings dishonor to his office and is not deserving of the respect usually accorded to presidents. He holds the office in contempt of all tradition that has been central for over 230 years.

Let's see what Donald Trump has in his plans to upstage the funeral of John McCain. Surely he can't pass and opportunity to express his displeasure towards his nemesis. He's not been the main story in the media. Trump can't tolerate not being the center of attention.

For Trump, McCain is gone and forgotten. For the American people, he is remembered with gratitude and respect.

Very Trumpian. Of course, those who align themselves with Donald Trump will follow his lead.

The Washington Post revealed that Trump nix the idea of sending a tweet that called John McCain a "hero" that his aides had prepared for him. Instead, he put out a tweet expressing sympathy for the family but never named John McCain. Apparently, McCain's name finds great difficulty in passing his lips.

This only reminds us that Trump's enemies, or as he likes to say "America's enemies", remain vivid in his mind for a long time. Ever since Trump said that McCain was not a war hero, Trump has show his lack of respect for honor and tradition. A man serves 5 1/2 years of his life as a prisoner of war, and ol' Bone Spur says he dislikes veterans who were captured during the Vietnam War while he danced and partied in New York.

This is typical of Trump, and McCain recognized him for what he is. It's amazing how "patriotism" has been so embraced by one who has ignored it much of his life. Perhaps there was no money in it for him? We know Trump prefers making a buck over everything else.

Soon we'll know a lot more as the Mueller investigation gets closer to the underbelly of the Trump empire.

Your average politician has a pretty hefty sense of self-esteem, but Kelli Ward is off the charts. Can you even imagine thinking that McCain's final days were focused on thwarting your all-important bus tour?

What happened to doing the right thing? Hearing the initial news a compassionate Stateswoman would have offered condolence to McCain's family and highlighted the man's years of service to his country and to the Republican party.

Compassion is not part of the Trump party. Blaming the press for their stupid mistakes is...

McCain was an American Hero! May God bless him and his family, and may he rest in peace!
