These guys drained the whole Salton Sea and quite a few other lakes

It is never enough... build a desalination plant and pump it in from the ocean... they and California can afford it

They will probably pump the ocean dry

The salmon need water to survive. They have no other choice. Once a species is extinct, it is gone forever. Humans and birds and other animals depend on salmon as a food source.

Farmers have little incentive to save water. Municipalities have little incentive to save water. Both water extensively during the day, when it's the hottest. A lot of the water evaporates before it sinks into the ground to water plants. One only has to look locally to see the same problem.

Humans want to work during daylight hours so that is when they water. Even with timers, watering still takes place during the day.

I'm with the salmon on this issue. If some farmers have to grow less, they will survive. If salmon do not have water, they will not survive.

How about taking all the water from the golf courses and give it to the farmers.

The golf courses use far more water than the salmon.

Oh, but that would have a desastours effect on the wealthy and we cannot have that.

I side with the salmon. To heck with Rush Limbaugh. A decline from 70 thousand to ten thousand is a tragedy. We are charged to be good stewards of the earth. Destroying salmon habitat is not good stewardship. Salmon are not just some endangered species. They are a vital part of the ecosystem and an important food source and game fish.

Fact agriculture is the #1 squander of water. Multitudes of studies have been done showing these farms waste millions of gallons of water daily.

Fact# 2 the US wastes more food than any country in the world.

Fact# 3 The US imports more Produces and Beef then any country in the world

My point being no their will not be any food shortages, the price of produce will go up due to corporate greed these industrial farms produces millions of tons of food that just goes to waste.

Did you know if produce is not the perfect shape or color its discarded ?

Multitude of solutions have been brought to the table to optimize watering but the majority of these farmers do not utilize them due to the fact they can just squanders millions of gallons of water without consequence.

To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh, "Why should we have to adapt to the salmon? If the salmon can't adapt to us, to heck with them."

And when the price of food goes through the roof I'm sure California Democrats will blame it all on Trump.
