ProvoMidmajor:So in other words, you got nothing! Go cougs!!!
banger.. i'm right with you as i also can not wait for yet another pac12
south title and pac12 championship ! we are the Champs ..... and then i woke up
from that pipe dream..... Go utes !
WACougmidmajor:You REALLY want to compare star rankings of the
starters between the Utes and your cougs? As soon as they release the depth
charts, I could do that! Maybe you could disprove what I put, and
show some actual research to back up your claim. Instead of comparing the Utes
to the rest of the PAC 12. A Conference the cougs struggle mightily against, and
desperately wish they were a part of.
WACougmidmajor:Seeing as how we weren’t discussing the Utes
rankings in the PAC, and you went to your usual “straw man analogy”,
I was was only disproving YOUR comment on how the Utes have “as many 2
stars as the cougs”. After you called out AZ Ute for not being truthful,
with “Please bring actual truthful meaningful comments here”! FWIW, don’t worry about where Utah lands in the PAC 12 with their
classes, they’ll be just fine, just worry about the real possibility of
your cougs starting the season at 1-3. And hoping they get out of the bottom 10
banger, thanks so much for your in depth research of the star ratings for the
Cougs and the utes ! However... you missed 2 important points that i made in my
comment ... I stated Starting players and that also i did not put any stock into
star ratings ... lets look at it this way , from 2015-2017 the utes finished on
an average of 8th best in recruiting rankings in the pac12 . so that would tell
us that the utes should finish around 8th in the conference this year since
these players should be the ones contributing this year ...Are you good with
that analogy ?
WACougmidmajor“the Cougars have about as many 2 star players
starting on their team as do the utes”Actually, that statement
is completely false and made up! Actual research is fun, and it took me about 6
minutes. As per 24/7 sports, the classes of 2018.... -Byu with SIX 2
star athletes and a couple not ranked with with 23 commits. Class ranking at 77.
(a little too generous IMO)-Utah with ONE 2 star athlete several FOUR
stars and a class ranking at 34.Per Rivals (which is WAY more
accurate)-Byu with TWELVE 2 star athletes with 21 commits, and a class
ranking at 94-Utah with TWO 2 star athletes with 20 commits and a class
ranking at 38.Sorry, but it’s not even close, and the gap
continues to widen. I don’t mind Utah picking up a 2 star here and there,
because what better Coach than Whittingham at finding diamonds in the rough. And
developing them into phenomenal players. As for the article, stay
healthy Hoge, could be a tough season.
Awesome article! I didn't know about him, but seems like a very smart guy
who gets it. This article has made me want to watch him all season. Love reading about the guys who really want to be on the team. Thanks again!
azzyu, the Cougars have about as many 2 star players starting on their team
as do the utes ..... as if that really means anything .... Please bring actual
truthful meaningful comments here if you want anyone to take you serious....
“BYU has the players, they've always had the players.”Their multitude of 2 stars states otherwise & th/jw are long gone.8 straight & counting is soon upon us.Go Utes!
BYU has the players, they've always had the players. The real question is
do they have the right coaches? Let's hope so!
The-Real-Notre Dame...This label does not fit. The real fans and players of The
Great School you speak for are the kind of guys who wish the best for those who
will be on the team, who are on the team and who choose to leave the team for
someplace else. They are high caliber people. With all due respect, you do not
know of what you speak. You have no idea as to why this very excellent player
chose to transfer. I'm grateful for the DN for giving us
insights into the lives of our Y players. Keep them coming. It's going to
be a season of surprises in the State of Utah. I look for the U to win the
South Division, for Utah State to struggle and for the Y to improve. Looking
forward to watching you play, Tristen. Stay healthy and have a great year. And to every other player in our state, regardless of school, stay
Attention BYU coaches: DO NOT switch this guy to noseguard on defense! His uncle
might not like it. Just kidding. Good luck Tristen!!
Notre Dame had two offensive linemen drafted in the top 10 in the NFL draft last
year and have another great offensive line this year. That is why Tristen is
known as a Notre Dame transfer.
He looks like he can help turn the line around. The battle is won in
the trenches. BYU has to get back to that instead of relying on a few stars.
BYU has a lot of talented players that, if they play up to their potential as a
team, will get BYU back on track to a winning season that will make 2017 seem
like nothing but a minor hiccup.
I'm sure BYU is glad to have Tristen, best wishes to him for a great
season. Go Cougars!
