If the current physical configuration of a person is either male or female, that
person has the right to have his/her physical configuration reflected on his/her
birth certificate or other legal identification document (if you don't want
that change made to a birth certificate, then do away with the birth certificate
as a legal determiner and create/authorize a document showing the person's
current physical configuration as determinative of that person's legal
status. If you want to go by birth confirmation, then tell me
this--how would a male feel about having to share the men's room with
Amiyah Scott or Carmen Carrera, or a woman having to share the women's room
with Chaz Bono or Aiden Dowling? For the record--Scott and Carrera were born
with male genitalia and Bono and Dowling were born with female genitalia, but
they transitioned. As a heterosexual female I would have NO problem sharing a
women's room with Scott or Carrera, but would have a huge problem sharing a
women's room with Bono or Dowling. My husband would have no problem sharing
a men's room with Bono or Dowling, but would be very uncomfortable sharing
one with Scott or Carrera.Let the docs show what the person is.
How can quoting parts of an article and then commenting on it be "off topic
or disruptive."? At least one 'moderator' down there needs their
walking papers or the desnews isnt remotely fair. "Despite the
controversy, a growing number of Utahns are having their birth certificates
altered to indicate the gender they identify with, according to the Utah
Department of Health.Fifty-seven did so last year, up from just nine
in 2012. The yearly high was in 2016, at 66, said Rich Oborn, the registrar and
bureau director for the department's vital statistics office."OOoooohhh. What a big problem. We have to stop these people because....well my
deity doesnt like it. /s Meanwhile Utah has a huge backlog of rape

would require those seeking the change to provide testimony or another form of
proof they have identified with the new gender for at least six months"Because the 'real' problem is people changing gender willy
I think a good policy would be to have two categories available "sex"
and "gender". Most people would have "Sex: Male, Gender: Male"
or "Sex: Female, Gender: Female" whereas transgender people would have
the option of changing their legal gender but their sex would remain the same.
This would be consistent with gender theorists who claim there is a necessary
distinction between gender and sex. This way medical professionals would be able
to make appropriate decisions so they can treat transgender people's
biological sex without mistreating them for the opposite sex.I
don't understand why the transgender lobby hasn't been arguing for a
policy like this. Instead they are arguing for their legal sex to be changed not
gender. Didn't we switch to the term transgender over transexual for a
'Drew Armstrong, of Pleasant Grove, told the panel his son Tyler, who is
transgender, is "just another one of the guys." 'So is
his son a girl who wants to be a boy, or a boy who wants to be a girl? When you
freely mix up all your nouns and pronouns such as "son," "guys,"
and "transgender," we lose all factual basis in reality (and the story).
A court of law cannot change how someone was biologically born. To do so would
violate the laws of nature and the reality that there are only two genders that
can’t be interchangeable. If someone wants to believe that they are the
opposite gender then have at it. Don’t expect the rest of society to
pretend and go along with a distorted fantasy.
