    One of my golden retrievers got foxtail in her left foreleg. I caught it before it became infected, but it seemed that the sore took forever to heal.

    Google foxtail and foxtail seed.

    If you can't do that, you shouldn't own a dog.

    Our Setter had a foxtail embed itself between the dog’s toes. Check each day between those doggie toes. Poor guy got a terrible infection. The weed moves fast.
