The sole purpose of Charter Schools is to create a private school with public
money, i.e. taxpayers money. This is facilitated by an admissions system that
picks and chooses who gets in. If you want an exclusive school with high
achievers - fine, create a private school with private money.
@Impartial7:If some well connected person was going to run this
school, the charter school board yanking approval would demonstrate such
connections dont guarantee a charter. Standards have to be met.How
many failing neighborhood schools have ever been closed in Utah or any other
State? Closing a few Charters shows there is accountability in that system not
present in the regular public system.
The D-News should do some reporting to tell us which Legislators or their
families own or run this school.
