Environmental extremism and its jack-boot heel of destructive federal regulations, over the last 30 years, has created the mind set against human caused global warming.

You have cried wolf over so many relatively trivial issues that much of middle America will never listen now.

Who is going to pay to clear out the dead wood? The Forest Service has no budget to do it since their budget has continually been cut over the last few decades. Lumber companies don't usually want the expense of harvesting small and useless lumber from our forests when they can go to the northwest and easily get better lumber. I imagine normal people might go collect wood, but that's going to make a very small dent in the problem.

To "marxist" who is denying climate change? The only people in denial are the people who push theories saying that man is responsible for climate change. They deny science and the scientific method in favor of a vote for what people think could be right, but can't really prove.

The fact is many of the wild fires get to be so bad because we have loved the forests to death. See "How The Smokey Bear Effect Led To Raging Wildfires" at NPR. The government overprotecting the forests has lead to them being tinderboxes waiting a spark.

There are other articles that show the same thing too.

Our poor and over-zealous fire policies have led to this, our forests are tinder boxes waiting to explode. It's time we allow more burning to happen rather than extinguishing them as quickly as possible. Protect structures but we've got to clear the forests of the dead wood.

My asthmatic lungs give their last gasp in appreciation to those 28,000 firefighters deployed to fight the 134 wildfires. God's speed. good people.
