"Meyer has "win at any cost " syndrome and he has left that legacy
at every College that he has ever coached at ....."Pacmidmajor--Not judging right? Just stating the facts? Could we have some
Bowling Green stories or examples of how he "cost" the Utes in terms of
integrity or doing the right thing? Maybe some of your seven like votes can list
out some of the ways "win at any cost, harmed students and universities.
Urban Meyer for President?
P5proud, nice try. It's a deflection to play the "what if Urban and
Shelly DID work hard to try to help the couple". That isn't the issue
here. The issue is, if they KNEW about the abuse (which texting proof allegedly
confirms) and then in true Urban legend fashion denied knowing about it,
that's a problem...Not that that's anything new for the Urb.If he KNEW about the abuse and now is denying knowing, he should go down in a
blaze of shame.
This is all happening very quickly and it would be wise for people to not jump
to conclusions too soon or judge Coach Myer and his wife too harshly. It could
easily turn out to be the case that Urban and Shelly DID work hard to try to
help the couple work through these problems. Both Myer and his wife are
instructors, so this would be a possibility. That said--this young woman seems
to have been left with no one to turn to and the emphasis SEEMS to have been on
not making waves--not disrupting a season or a young coaches career. Willful
ignorance--or "Keep this stuff away from me--I have a team to
coach"--just isn't going to get it anymore. Jerry and JoePa taught us
that. This is heartbreaking. Mostly and most importantly for this young
woman, who seems to have wanted no fame or revenge, but only to know that
someone--anyone is listening and might be willing to help. Our thoughts should
be with her and not on how OSU fall camp might be adversely affected.
Paid leave? Does this mean an extended vacation?
Batman, He would be welcomed with open arms ....
Gary Anderson came back maybe Urban will now also. eh?
