    My husband and I play Backgammon. It’s easy to learn and there is some strategy involved. We love it!

    I second Cribbage!
    My wife and I really enjoy playing it together to unwind.

    One of my favorite two player board games is Cribbage, although it doesn't absolutely require a board and can be played by 3 or 4 players, too. That game taught me about addition and combinations in my youth.
