When a young person like Ms. Butler can speak intelligently and honestly about
her sport, it's a joy to hear or read. I've always been uncomfortable
listening to adults talk about their kid's careers as it never really seems
like much more than a promotional commercial--or--at worst, they have no idea of
what they are talking about. But when the students themselves are interviewed by
capable reporters, the monotonous soundbites seem to drift away and thoughtful,
simple responses make their story a pleasure to read. That's the case here.
