    @Dan Maloy

    Well, why not "bash" Romney. So many posters think it is ok to bash the President for little or no reason and he has done a lot more than Mitt to move this country forward in the past year and a half.

    @one vote

    Do you know which TWO of the Eagles will attend?

    @Tumbleweed
    Yes, Bloomberg.

    Maybe they like his revenue stream of taxing soda pop. It's a great scam. They talk about obesity and diabetes, then use the money for something else.

    They think Bloomberg is the way forward for the GOP. They just don't get it.

    I happen to think there are plenty of secret GOP state meetings with Central Committee members who think they are planning our future.

    At least we know that Romney is having a meeting, though we may not know the details of what is said.

    Wow, the anti-Mitt odor is really stinking up the place.

    Translation: lot of jealous people on this board.

    Rather than just bash Romney, why don't you take some time and actually learn about the man and his accomplishments. Do some research. Read some books on him. Read what he has said and written and in what context he said those things. Am I saying that Mitt is perfect? Nope. But his talents, character and accomplishments, are extensive. Utah, and the nation, will be blessed to have him as a Senator.

    Oh goody, the 1% getting together and deciding how to road map the future to keep wealth in their pockets and how to the masses in check. I love what our republic has become.

    The GOP is in disarray. They missed the Tea party. They missed the Trump victory.

    But the list attending the Deer Valley summit is not likely to help. They are the same group that has ignored the base while catering to swing groups.

    The WSJ/Chamber group doesn't get it. It's all about cheap labor while appearing to espouse diversity for them.

    Trump got Democrats in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania to vote for him. No one on the invite list at E2 knows why...or even cares to know.

    Mitt's echo chamber will not break any new ground.

    Even though the Deseret news says don't expect any headline news to come from this retreat, it has been in their headline news two days straight. This retreat would be better served by calling it Republicans in name only with supporting liberal Democrats.

    Oh you mean the "Annual 1% Retreat." Got it.

    He should skip it if he's in a race. He looks elite, snobby and seems to align himself with anti-Trump people. Not an image to continue with the country moving forward under President Trump.

    Why would Mitt invite gun-grabber, control-freak Michael Bloomberg?

    A RINO conference that will have Trump supporters livid and calling infowars.

    "I have to be skeptical of someone who is buddies with Joe."

    One would then assume that you were skeptical of Ronald Reagan? He would put down the gloves when the work day was done and have a very cordial visit with Tip O'Neill. They were not the best of buddies, but the got along. One might say they had a typical Irish relationship between the fighting.

    Why is it that conservatives cannot have liberal friends? Do they disown family members who do not share their political views. After all, when it's all said and done, it doesn't mean very much in the long term. That's not 10-20 years term. It is 100 years and more.

    We create these divisions. The tribalism that develops over political ideas, is now waged more over social attitudes that will eventually change with time. It is how it is. Today is vastly different from the middle 20th Century although conservatives seem to want to return to those days. They remember a time that never was, but it was more anxiety, fear of nuclear war and racial discord than 'Leave It To Beaver' .

    Politics is all about power and selfishness. Politicians divide us so they can to get your vote.

    I don’t trust anyone that would hold a political retreat. The elite is deciding your future however low key they want you to think it is. Politics should be carried out in a public forum and for this I think Mitt is untrustworthy. Vote no for the elitist Mitt, he can’t even comprehend the common mans struggle.

    In one of Mitt's recent retreats he came out of it arm in arm with Joe Biden. I have to be skeptical of someone who is buddies with Joe.

    Given the fact that Dr. Mike Kennedy did not vote for Donald Trump, I believe it would be an inaccurate comment that he is a 'staunch supporter of Trump'

    Please correct that statement to read that he Supports our President, as all Good Latter-day Saints are expected to do.

    Again, the Deseret News is not fair and unbiased in its' reporting. Shame on you.

    An Alzheimer's theme? Is that a joke? Or does it call attention to the old, tired attendees.

    The concept is rather worn out. This bunch couldn't beat Obama. They couldn't beat Trump.

    These are a buncj of national figures without a general election to plan. Romney doesn't need their help. Not in Utah.

    If he was planning to run against Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts, that would be a reason to meet. But Utah is a cake walk for Mitt.

    This is a nostalgia tour. Nothing more.
