Salt Lake City Council is raising their pay 50%.

I guess they found something to spend the increase on.

I've been out of Utah for 27 years. When I move back in about 3 more it will NOT be into Salt Lake county and people like your current mayor are why.

    Pathetic...

Remember, there is never a tax Democrats don't try to raise, and only one category of spending they try to cut: defending our country.

Mayor Biskupski and the council honestly believe that the citizen's money is their piggy bank, free to spend however they want without regard to the citizens who don't get a raise to pay the taxes that the Democrats always demand from them.

It's always "Raise your taxes, miserable peons! You are merely serfs, working solely to make the money we take from you. Be grateful we allow you to eat--when we should take it all!"

Seriously, the Mayor and the rest of the Democrat party must have watched Disney's "Robin Hood" as kids and said, "I love King John and the Sheriff of Nottingham! Oppressing the citizenry is great! Taxes, Taxes, Taxes!"

Democrats have never met a tax increase or spending increase they did not like.

As far as 27 or 50 more cops, it should be closer to 100 more. The decision to close the downtown homeless shelter and build three new ones dispersed around the valley, and the sudden decision to enforce some laws in the area have spread addicts and mentally ill people all over the SLC area, not just in Salt Lake City itself, but in the neighboring political entities which are seeing increased crime and vagrancy already.

Salt Lake City voters have no one to blame but themselves for the myriad problems being made worse daily by liberal mismanagement.

In a time of economic prosperity, with unprecedented tax revenues coming in, and with the revitalization of the down town district, anchored by the City Creek development adding to that tax generating vitality, it is amazing to me that the mayor would actually be so bold as to propose additional taxes.

I sincerely hope my extended family members that live in Salt Lake City, come next election, will remember what the Mayor has done in regards to:

    Tax Hikes
    Rio Grande Neighborhood Law Enforcement
Cooperating with the State of Utah regarding an Inland Port

    and then vote accordingly.
